    Friday

Chicken was delayed and turned up 2 + hrs late, we quickly fitted a rear mousse and added a piece to his front mousse.
We trailered the bikes to nth Richmond to save some time, we then couldn’t find the start to the track and spent sometime going around and around in circles looking for it before I cracked the shits and we had to suck up 30kms of black shit to get back to the dirt. We got onto the dirt again at Bilpin and traveled along a beautiful track down through s steep gorge and up the other side some (35kms) and came back onto the Bell Road and traveled about 5kms through the Bell and back on the dirt. Following a series of tracks to the Zig Zag railway. From there it started with fast dirt roads, then fire trails, some twin trail up some big hills and a blast into Capertee. Chicken had some dramas with his front brake hose and he gave himself some lovin with a fairly big mid speed crash that saw him again pinned under his bike. Chicken stayed up to nearly 7.30 that nite before he fell into a deep snoring sleep!

    Saturday

We woke to a very cool morning, I went out the back of the pub and could hear a small diesel engine running, upon inspection found Hammer asleep across the seats of his truck??? What the ???? He had a room booked at the pub (but turned up after mid night and wondered why it was shut up? Did he ring ahead no, sleep in the truck I say!)

Crash turns up with the Pasha Bulka, yes he completed most of his project XR650 which included a 30 litre fuel tank (full of fuel) thought here was to test for Yellow Mountain

So we start getting ready after some breakfast and find Hammer has a flat tyre!So Chicken like the reader poll said jumps in action!

Chris’s KLX wont fire and ends up with a bat flattery and has to be jump started!

Of we go, nice twin trail, creek crossing after creek crossing, some steep up and down hills and traveling along at a good pace. After waiting for sometime at an intersection I carefully traveled backwards along the track and picked up the next corner man and continued back and picked up the next sweep. Next thing the boys turn up, nothing is said and I lead off, at the next intersection I waited and gathered the group together to head into a single line trail when Chicken starts going off about getting Crash to hospital, what the f*%k I yelled then they show me Crashes boot all covered in Blood!!!!! So we did a quick dash out to the great western highway at Yetholme. Chicken and Crash then bolted down the black top to Bathurst Hospital.

We fueled and rode back to Capertee, we had a great trip back, chopper decided he would see how deep a creek crossing by hitting it as fast as he could, he was soaked and yet seemed amazed that he got so wet!

We got back to the pub and I arranged for the boys to ride to Kandos and have some lunch while I drove to Bathurst Hospital to pick up Crash and Chicken. Chris couldn’t go straight away as he needed Hammer’s impact driver I thought it was an emergency repair before he could ride again but it turned out he wanted to fit his frame guard, yes it was all for the bling!! So the boys headed of to Kandos unsupervised whilst I drove over to Bathurst to pick up Crash, Chicken and their bikes.

Once back at the pub, we set about doing air filters etc for Sunday’s ride, some rums, Hammer went home, we watched the rugby and ate like kings!

    Sunday

We got away about 8.30am and headed over towards Balbone, Cullen Bullen area, Chicken was in the lead at first but as he didn’t know the way and the corner man system broke down twice in the first 10kms I went back in the lead. We crossed into the garden of stone and found some great single line which included a great hill climb, I blasted straight up and the carnage started to unfold, Chris got stuck about ½ way up blocking Chicken and Chopper crashed at the bottom. I removed my helmet cam and video taped the boys having another go. Everyone got up the next go bar Chop Chop who crashed into the tree at the bottom corner, so Chicken winged down and rode it up for him.

Check chicken hit something whilst coming up the hill

We tooled around in the tracks and single line for awhile before coming back to the start and leaving Chopper for a rest while Chicken, Chris and I did a quick half hr loop. We regrouped and headed for the pub, nice easy trip along the railway line service track ended in a broken arm for Chopper, he was unlucky and will look ahead more remembering where he has been earlier in the morning, but thankfully it was only a broken arm as in was a bad fall in a bad little gully.

I went back to the pub, crash had some how loaded the Pasha Bulka up on his ute?? and hooked up the trailer, I loaded my bike and we went and meet the boys out where they had got Chop to the road, we threw a bike on the trailer so crash then toke chop to Lithgow hospital. I doubled chicken back on chops bike we loaded packed up and went to the hospital. After waiting for about an hour and a half we all headed home!

    Bikes, Bikes, Bikes!!

    Guru,
Should ‘crash’ now become ‘stake’ or ‘twiggy’ or maybe we should open up for a few suggestions?
Also, looking for why things happen and starting to get superstitious, should we the change the number of the ‘beast’.

OOps, sorry Chris I hit the wrong button. I didn’t mean to edit your post.

Anyhow that is exactly the same way I go up hills. No one can pass you if you have the outriggers extended

    Someone say moderator??

The first time I crashed up that hill, TB kicked out a massive rock rolling towards me, had to switch my line and hit an even bigger rock, thought I was going to have a heart attack trying to pick my bike up and get it pointed back down the hill, trust me I was tempted to pick that rock up and throw it at the two at the top, who were kindly screaming words of encourangement. Ended up dropping kermit and dragging around on its side, I think my anal days of no scratches is now behind me..

    Chris.

It is worse when you crash twenty feet from the top and the boys at the top just stand there and take photos of your misfortune whilst giggling like demented hyenas instead of giving you a hand to get the bike off your leg.

    Mick,
You should see the video I have of Chris when he got to the top of the hill, I have been told to never show it, I think he was going to eat the only copy!
