Hi there!
Mick invited me from TT forums to check out your place here.
I’m from Hungary, I was born in St. Petersburg (Russia) and willing to go to Ossie
Anyways… I think I will be stalking you, reading ride reports and stuff, I hope to see many pictures which show the beauty of your country and eventually learn a bit more about yout culture and lifestyle.
Cheers:
Yuri
😆August 23, 2008 at 8:28 pm #107232Welcome Yuri,
Great to see you on board!!! Congratulations on being our first international member.
Feel free to read the ride reports , I hope they don’t make you jealous!!! LOL
We would also be interested in seeing some of your riding pics and learning about trail riding in Hungary.
Cheers
MickAugust 23, 2008 at 8:36 pm #107247You have much better places to ride thats for sure, thats one reason I want to go there
and I’m never jealous.
Ok, I will send some pics when I can. Btw the place where I live (and the whole country mainly) is flatland. Sandy terrian with some woods. Love sand
August 23, 2008 at 8:45 pm #107233I love mud!!!!! I hate dust!!! My favourite place to ride is in rainforests.
Nice leafy trails with muddy bog holes = FUN!!! WE are going to take the boys on their 85cc bikes to the rainforest today for some father/son adventure.August 23, 2008 at 8:52 pm #107248Rainforest ride? Sounds creazy…
I wish my father rode off-road, btw he is the same age as you are

Isnt it very hot there?I have read a lot of nice things about Cairns. Is it any similar?
August 23, 2008 at 9:19 pm #107236I am from Wauchope on the Mid north coast of NSW, it is more humid than hot. It is winter here now and it is a bit cold but nothing like what you being from Russia would call cold!!!
Cairns is 2185km north of here and it gets very humid there in Summer. I have only been to Cairns airport so I don’t know much about the riding up there, but it is famous place for its rainforest riding.August 23, 2008 at 9:40 pm #107250My mother used to wear a skirt when it was -30°C LOL
I thought there are rainforests only up north.

-30C??? Unbelievable BRRRRRRRRRR
It rarely gets below zero here,I was nearly 40yo before I saw snow for the first time and that was in Switzerland!!August 23, 2008 at 9:51 pm #107251Are you free to ride almost anywhere you like?
Arent you afraid of the wildlife? Is the goverment protecting it?August 23, 2008 at 9:58 pm #107238Yes as long as your bike is registered with the Department of transport you can pretty well ride where you like on public land like the state forests.
The only time I worry about the wildlife is when a kangaroo jumps out in front of me!!! EEEEEK!!!
Hitting a kangaroo will bring you down.
All Australian native wildlife is protected by law but dirt bikes don’t worry the wildlife much. The animals usually hear us coming and hide.August 23, 2008 at 10:05 pm #107252Thats cool

Hitting a kangaroo LOLAugust 23, 2008 at 10:10 pm #107239I have hit many Kangaroos in cars in my life and they cause a lot of damage to your car. But not long ago I hit a cow on my XR600 and had a big crash and cracked my ribs. OUCH
