Being a poor bastard, I use automatic transmission fluid in my forks but don’t have an accurate idea of it’s viscosity. I know that Mobil Synthethic ATF is about SAE 7.5Wt but SAE weights aren’t very accurate. By that I mean that oils with a certain stated SAE weight, can vary greatly between brands. I use Nissan factory ATF as I have a bottle of it in the shed.

It believe is more accurate to use the ISO model which measures in centistokes at 40 and 100 degrees C. I have a table of various brand fork oils using the ISO rating and want to compare where the ATF I use fits in.

Can anyone measure oil viscosity at their workplaces?

Please disregard this request. I have had another brainstorm idea instead.
