No not at all, your a very special person that is excited and wants to share his thoughts with the world!;)

its people like you that make a forum work Moto, but not everyone has access to their computer all day, I am sure its good when they sign on and find all the information etc that is there so they can join in (thats the theory anyway)

Hey did you see about the stickers on the front page, you have the faulty one

No didn’t see about the stickers, I don’t check the front page out too often. If you have any decent size stickers you can send them to me if you want and I’ll decorate my trailer with them :)

I wouldn’t say I’m excited either, more like I have some time on my hands:laugh:

Mate it is all good,if it isn’t you being the latest poster it would normally be me..LOL
Like TB said, not every one has daytime access to the internet and in order for the site to keep buzzing it needs members that are pro active like yourself. Keep up the good work is what I say.

Ahhhh….my young learner it takes years of IT expertise before you can master this move. sw022.gif

    Meh, just kiddingB)

If you hit the print screen button on your keyboard, sometimes shown as PrtScn, open up Microsoft paint and hit paste or Control ‘V’ it will paste the screenshot into paint as a picture. Save and your away :) Try and save as a JPG or some other format though as .BMP are large files.

It’s the gizmo in this site that makes the pictures small:angry:

Well, that should do me for the day. I think I might head home and take the bike out for a spin, see how my finger is going. It got worse again after the last ride :(

Moto, even though you may spend alot of time on this site, at least you are contributing usefully, not like all those lurkers who just sit there and watch the goings on.

I for one love reading your ride reports as they always keep the reader guessing as to which part of your bike has fallen off this time:P I can’t wait for the next installment.

As long as you are enjoying doing what you do, just continue. I am sure if you become annoying (not saying you will), they are plenty of us here that will tell you so.

Well, the latest installment is I went for a ride (around town) this arvo and filled my bike up with fuel, forgetting (for the 3rd time in a row) that fuel leaks out from underneath my seat and down onto my header pipe! (I hear you asking how I could forget this).

I pull the fuel pipe off the tank (going to the carbie) and drain the fuel down to stop it from leaking. Wait for fuel to evaporate as I don’t want to be a riding fireball down the road, start the bike up and make my way home.

I take the seat off and the tank plastics and put more fuel in from my jerry can when fuel pisses out of the screw hole that holds the plastics on….WTF?? That really can’t be right. After taking the other bolts out to check if there is something special or the wrong one is in there I find nothing unusual.

I put the plastics screw back in to stop the fuel pissing everywhere and notice that fuel is still leaking out (at a slower rate) from a crack next to the screw. Crap.

Drain fuel again, refit all parts except seat, and phone KTM dealer. They are not sure whether the two top holes that hold the plastics on should go right through to the tank or not but think that it probabbly isn’t right. I seriously doubt they are supposed to, as it would mean you can’t take the tank plastics off when you 3/4+ of a tank of fuel.

I ask how much a new tank is and am told $380. Deep joy. I tell him to get it on order as I need the thing. He tells me as I’m such a good customer he’ll give it to me for $300 and it will be here next week.

So the only questions that remain are:

Have any of you ever had a fuel tank plastic welded? The crack is realively small and I think would be an easy fix.
Do any of you know if KTM have made the fuel tank design so ridiculous that the tank plastics screws protrude right into the fuel tank?

That doesnt sound right or ADR legal Moto that screws could go right through into the fuel cell area, the holes I would think would be blind holes, could someone have fitted the wrong screws / bolts a punched the ends on the blind plastic holes into the fuel tank / cell area

Chris just completed a course on plastic welding and I will be on the central coast on sat, I will be going through The Entrance on sat morning meet me and give me the tank I will get Chris to have a look at it in his spare time and can bring it back on the 25th if you would like?

Cheers guys. I’m pretty sure the screws in there are the right ones, but I’m also pretty sure they should be blind/cappped holes. Something isn’t quite right!

I have ordered a new one Gili, but would like to fix the fucked one for spares in case I crack it again. I don’t think I’ll have a hope in hell for a warranty replacement as good as it sounds.
