Hi All, completed a plastic welding course recently even got a certificate. I was amazed at what can be repaired and how good and strong the repairs are. I mainly did it, 1). it’s not computers and 2). If I ever snap / crack some plastics I can repair them.. The biggest issue with Motorbike plastics is that they are a composite plastic, so unless you can source exactly the same material you can’t weld it. An idea from the instructor was to actually trim a piece from the piece you are repairing, obviously the most inconspicuos place. My idea is I’ll eventually have some old plastics hanging around so I can use these to do repairs on other plastics. We mainly worked on car bumpers and internal car pieces and the results were pretty amazing.

    Cheers
    Chris.

Top effort Chris and thanks for having a look at my tank. If it can’t be welded I’ll have to break out the superglue!
