a differnt type of ride
Raceytracy and I were meant to race the last round of the Heaven Vintage MX this weekend. We didn’t know if our first model Elsinore was suited to the track and we were keener to ride our NX.
So we decided to ride our NX from Newy up the buckets way, camp somewhere along the top of Barrington tops, drop in at Lake Glenbawn MX track. Then zig zag our way back to Newcastle.
Due to Afro Moses’s band playing his funky west African beats and reggae on Friday night and rain on Saturday. We didn’t leave until Sunday. So a one day trip it was to be.
Because Raceytracy slept in to a sensible time and there was a strong wind heading straight up the valley, we decided to head straight up the New England to Lake Glenbawn and take our time to wonder back down the valley. Basically following the hunter river.
The Lake Glenbawn track looks awesome. Heaps of full banked turns, jumps and hill climbs. We caught the last race and the president’s invitational. If you ever want to know what your old MX mates are up to. They may be racing the same old bikes they did back then
We then headed up along the farms at the edge of the forest. Heaps of incredible scenery, high hills, and river crossings. One of the hills had a lone zombie tree. So I decided to call it zombie tree hill. I would like to camp there one night.
