I have been using No Toil air filter oil for several years now, when it came to cleaning the filters I always used the proper cleaner, that costs about $9.00 for a little bottle.
Last night I went to clean a couple of filters only to find that my son had used the last of the powder, so I thought I would try some OMO powder instead. I actually think it works better than the proper cleaner!!! OMO is only $5kg and makes your filter smell nice too! So it is of to the supermarket to grab some OMO for the shed as I wont be buying that expensive cleaner again!

So do you soak it in turps or something first and then use the OMO for the second clean, then rinse.

And Mick, i will be disposing of the bottle as soon as used!!

the only minus is the cost of the cleaner as far as I was concerned. The plus is that it is biodegradable and easy to dispose of the cleaning solution. Not like turps and the like.
Btw I was waiting for that comment Gili!!LOL

Be careful that the detergent doesn’t degrade the foam. I don’t expect it will but you never know.

Haven’t seen no toil applied, I would be bothered about using it provided it coated my filter evenly. I’d be able to tell after the first ride if it does the same job as the normal oil.

Moto as far as I am concerned it does a good job of coating the filter,we have run it in all our bikes with no dramas, even the pesky valve chewing CRF250,which by the way,the one I had never had valve problems.

You should send the bike back to Honda then, they could put in their museum with a tag ‘The prophecy has been fulfilled’! :p

How much better would they run if you used fabric softener as well?

That’s a good point Shane. I might try some bleach in my bike at the weekend :)
