Yeah, weekend after the christmas party doing a big ride, Mittagong to Orange,it will be dirt roads, fire trails, twin trail and some pine forest single line. Its a big day, long ride but not hard.
Will need at least 4 guys for it to happen
Will need to be able to cover 150 kms on a tank of fuel min.
Will stay over night at a pub somewhere
Not much more, you will need to carry some spares, a tube, its a great ride down through lime burners, across to Oberon, Hillend etc

Nothing like riding weekend after weekend after weekend is thereTB
November 23, 2008 at 9:03 pm #112855Depending on the logistics, I may be interested.
Limeburners is apparently closed by the NPWS. They bought the land sometime last year which is a bit of a blow. How “closed” is the question – They could close it to 4WD with a gate, but a bike could easily pass.November 23, 2008 at 9:49 pm #112884How do we check if we can still get through lime burners?

November 26, 2008 at 7:32 am #113160OK. The Mekon rode out to Limeburners (southern entrance) today. The track is closed at the top – a big sign saying walkers only, and a huge gate with about 100m of stout wire fencing each side reaching deep into the undergrowth. There is no quick bypass.
That said the gate was open when I was there and no sign of any traffic on the track for weeks.Other information will be sent by p.m.

AnonymousAn open gate sounds like an open invitation to me

Mekon, I don’t think this ride is going ahead due to lack of numbers. Me and TB are looking like we are going to have a ride somewhere else though. Wanna come?

December 1, 2008 at 8:12 am #112838Hey guy’s just due to finish big commercial job wednesday and would love to come on this ride if theres room. I have a 24 litre tank so distance should not be a problem. I could act as mother ship and give Moto some fuel if needed. Also have a 5 litre tank bag if some one wants to use it.
December 1, 2008 at 8:44 am #113356Boulder and others, the ride is from Capertee to overnight somewhere I think orange but does it really matter does it, we will be traveling some very sweet twin trails and will see some great sites. Meeting time 7am my place Saturday morning, cars and trailers etc to Capertee, 8.30 and ride, creek crossings, pine forests and big hills. Hero’s and racers need not apply as we will at times be a long long way from help!
You will need to pack over clothes and carry everything with you. All bikes must be in good nick and have basic spares, levers, chain link joiner, spare tube, tyre levers and some tools
