AnonymousIt’s funny, as I was driving in to work this morning I had a feeling that we might cop a break with the weather. They are quite often wrong so far in adavnce. We might be alright yet
November 25, 2008 at 9:02 pm #113095I would rather ride in the rain, light rain sure but rain none the less.

AnonymousWhat? Really?
Perfect conditions are cloudy and having rained in the last few days. Then you don’t get the dust, the soil is loamy but the rocks and stuff have dried so aren’t too slippy. Plus you don’t get water covering your goggles all day long from rain and branches hitting your face.
I wouldn’t care if it never rained again. I’ve had more than my fair share of the stuff
November 25, 2008 at 9:10 pm #113099Rain slippery as like riding on glass covered with oil, so it takes throttle control and feel for what you are doing, makes it the same for everyone, no dust, but slippery as slippery slippery throttle control. just winding it on so gently dragging the back brake to control wheel spin, finger slipping the clutch, so careful, coming into corners trying not to lock a brake because you will increase speed and over shoot, lose the front end and get it back without crashing !
Bring it on!
Knife edge stuff

AnonymousYeah but you have to go slower
And can’t really throw the bike around which is what I like. Growing up in Oz I guess you like the conditions that are less common. That’s why I like dry, grippy stuff.I spent plenty long enough pharking around on slippery rocks, roots, logs, streams and stuff riding trials where they purposely set the course out over that sort of stuff to make it harder.
If you like knife adge and slippey conditions why not just run a 50/50 tyre in the dry
