Looks like I’m the first one home so I get to start the report thread! It’s great to ride exotic bikes!!!
I turned up at camp on Friday night, later than expected after becoming geographically challenged, to find that the night ride had been cancelled due to lack of interest. Poofs. I couldn’t see more than 5 metres in front of me on the road in! I could only imagine the carnage if the ride had occurred.
So I set up and had some beers and sat around the fire, then more beers…geez some of those Bulls can talk!
In the morning, I geared up. Contrary to popular belief I did not sleep in my new flash gear…I was just keen. Once the disclaimers were all done we headed out into the scrub where we were set upon by a rogue group of riders with a different cornerman system and route in mind!!! After that was sorted the day went swimmingly (I have Eagle in mind here!)
Highlights of my day:
Being the first on the ground less than 5 kays in…then looking up to see Champo with a camera out! For the record front wheel in one rut, rear wheel in another, left leg in another rut and right leg in another…finding a rut to put my third leg into, priceless!
Seeing Chopper do the ‘sick blowfly’ after presumably power sliding his Suzuki around a corner.
watching Eagle dog paddle in the thickest brown water I ever saw.
I only rode the morning due to technical issues so that’s pretty much my story.
I returned to camp and set to demolishing my carton when the Pirates suggested they look at my technical issues. When that failed we pulled the covers off to find a different problem which was rectified and my hopes of exiting stage left in the morning were dashed!
Sat night saw more beers and bullsh1t than I have witnessed in ages. I managed to win a memory stick (or something) for my prowess and tenacity with computer games. Also a stubbie holder in the lucky draw…which I’ve since managed to misplace!
Tell you what though, the major prizes were something to behold!
Oh yeah! I haven’t mentioned the beef jerky yet…how much of that can you eat in one sitting!!!!
Sunday’s ride saw the appearance of some fresh riders and two Old Cows!!! My day was cut short due to the re-occurrence of the technical issues. I do hope though that the big puddle that I went through beside Chopper soaked him. Because I was saturated as a result:blush: . Having said that I did see him cuddle a tree with much exuberance. (Hope the wrist is not too bad).
I just thought of some other things that stood out…Motos chair/firewood. Moto’s tent. Moto’s jacket (that is a nice jacket)
Big thanks to all who had a hand in organisation. I won’t mention names because I can’t remember them all and they know who they are.
To those that catered. Farkenhell! That was tops!
I think that’s it for me. I had an excellent adventure and look forward to another.
Now, I have to go out to the shed and throw some spanners at the Vor and see how much of a belting the credit card will get as a result:laugh:
November 30, 2008 at 5:20 am #113257YEAH !!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Spot on Shane with the “DOG PADDLE CALL” I certainly went all out in that swimming hole.
Just finished unpacking & cleaning the BROWN KLX:laugh:   It is still green underneath, to my amazement.
I have to agree on the big thanks to TB, Chris, Mick for all the organisation that went in for the weekend. Also huge Thanks to Mac & the boys for the trailer/spit/fridge/BBQ & all of the AWSOME tucker
I thoroughly enjoyed my experience, even if I could only muster up the strength to do one loop, but it was a hell of an initiation for me I can tell ya :woohoo:
Another big thankyou to Gilli for all his assistance on the morning loop CHEERS MATE
THE PRIZES WERE ABSOLUTELY AWSOME !!!!!!!!! And I must thank all of the sponsors that donated them for the event, especially Sutto’s for the Scott Jacket that I was luck to winTHANKS

AnonymousOur first ride with OBT and definately won’t be the last. Myself and Kylie (TTR250) came up for the Sunday morning ride and totally enjoyed every minute of it. The conditions were perfect with no dust, not too much water and good flowing tracks. The ride was a mix of everything that we like doing, open and single trail, some good up and down hills and a few tricky bits thrown in for good measure. Thankyou Ollie for leading the ride and also our sweep rider Gilli. I am hoping to remember the loop so that we can do it again. Everyone on the ride was friendly, there was no pressure and if you ended up in the shit a helping hand was close by. It’s good to see that you don’t need to be an enduro hero with a group like OBT, you are accepted no matter your riding ability. We would of liked to of stayed to do another ride but our ride pass was limited due to the kids putting the guilt trip on us nearly evertime we go for a ride.
Once again thankyou to everyone who was part of the Sunday morning ride. Maybe next Christmas party we might get some more ride time in.Dan & Kylie

Anonymousmoto borrowed my ute to collect his bike from his house.
On Friday morning, we extracted moto’s ktm from the ute but i think the ute caught a decease from said ktm
as i started it up the fuel pump died. That’s the fuel tank on the tray.
unable to push the ute inside out of the rain due to some small steps and small … we tried winching it in using tie downs. November 30, 2008 at 11:46 am #113259
AnonymousMoto thought better of my idea of hammering the fuel pump until it worked, he used his fancy book learning to find out that we should hammer it.

November 30, 2008 at 5:38 pm #113265My second ride with OBTR and my first post. Yep, I’m slack.
Thanks to TB and all who helped with the Christmas ride. I turned up on Saturday for the arvo ride, camped overnight and took off Sunday morning.
I was going well with no mishaps until we finished the slippery hill and I was pulling up next to Tiny who was saying ‘Watch out for the’ that’s all I heard before my front wheel washed out on a small stick and down I went. Tiny had just done the same thing and broken the clutch lever, not that it slowed him down.
Saturday night couldn’t have be better, spit roast, beers and a chat in front of a fire. Sounds like there are some interesting events planned in the future with OBTR.
For the raffle I had my eye on the enduro jacket from Sutto’s but had to settle for buying a beer cooler instead. The beef jerky was good too.
Good talking to the Wauchope boys about all the good riding around there.
Thanks to everyone, I had a great time.
