I am concerned that a 20k loop at this event is’nt going keep us entertained for long with a lot of other bikes there also.
I see our options are-
1 the event we are looking at.
2 a look around Woodenbong { depending upon what I have found}
3 a ride at the sunshine coast. Are you keen to ride Sat and Sun?
Whats your thoughts?

December 23, 2008 at 2:35 am #115828I am keen for only sunday as I have other commitments, yes a 20 kms loop is only short but maybe just that and more of a social catch up for faces to names etc to help get the QLD side up Old Bulls up and doing some regular rides etc
Am not 100% sure I will have my bike there but will be there myself

December 23, 2008 at 5:09 am #115787Unfortunatly I cant make it that day, but having said that I would reconsider the RTCB rides if I were you. These rides are set up mainly to cater to the flanny set. The tracks are usually rocky rutted shit holes, which of course can be fun, but not when your #600 through.
I reckon a better option would be a run through the Kenilworth state forest to Imbil pub for lunch then back again. Great riding in a great part of the country.
I have the gps track that I would send to whoever nominates to be the lead rider as long as they respect the fact and use it accordingly.
The route would need to be pre ridden as I havnt done it for quite a few months.December 23, 2008 at 7:07 am #115834Talkin of QLD rides, I won’t be making this one but I have always wanted to do Fraser Island. Maybe sometime next year a ride and campout could be the go up there.

Being new to Queensland I dont even know where Kenilworth is or the Imbil pub, but if your up for showing me the trail I would be happy to lead the boys through if it is ok, what sought of K’s would it be and what sought of trails. We could pre ride if that suited you.Cheers KTM01
December 26, 2008 at 10:39 am #115788The RTCB rides are pretty good.. the tamborine ride is ok, not sure about the one at Boonah, but I’m the new bloke any ride sounds good. Like the idea of a ride and a beer after to meet everone and maybe organise something in person.
December 27, 2008 at 7:25 am #115840Yeah, to go over the top, you could do your sand run from Noosa, hop the ferry over the river then run the beach to Rainbow/Inskip, onto the next ferry and hit Fraser at Hook point..( the Bottom end), then the long run upto the top point. That would be the run for the brissy end of QLD. Take a long weekend because the run upto Rainbow is full of other spots to check out to.
December 27, 2008 at 7:56 am #115935Done that run before Husky610?
Sounds great. Hows all that sand riding go on the bike, not have riden much in the sand, chew out pads and bearings.KTM01
December 27, 2008 at 11:14 am #115938Mate, I’ve only ever done that run in an old Subaru wagon, many year ago now..and not onto the Island. I’ve been alround the Island, nevr stepped foot on it in 15 yr+. I’ve done some sand running around here though, found it pays to wash bike well and spray down with WD40…the god of all things mechanical..LOl.. From Noosa up to Rainbow is a steady run..is Patroled abit and is speed posted. Once around half way up, there is tracks everywhere, just off the beach app. 400 mtrs, it goes red clay.( 400 mtrs straight, is hilly between beach and backtracks). I spent around 2 yrs in the area 4x4ing n the subaru. great place to look around… I have only Just started finding all the tracks again on the bike. Most times riding Solo..so carefully.. My bike is only 1 yr old..still on orig chain/sprocket set. As well as pads.( perhaps i ride to slow??)
December 27, 2008 at 11:17 am #115951PS…on a bike, I’d guess you’d run closetr to the water mark, the sand is more compact and would not lift as much??? Gotta watch for water drains..lol…unless you like endo’s?? ..I have maps of the area, will find distances and post them.

AnonymousMy uncle lives in Noosa and I’m trying to get him to join the site. He rides up rainbow beach with his son most weekends but has been talking about venturing out to Kenilworth and meeting up with some new riders.
Sounds like there could be a few of you QLD boys in a similar(ish) area that could hook up for a ride.
