Well with the use of the Old Bull site, Sirdropalot and I hooked up and went out for a Stickybeak at the local ‘Old Coal Mine’.Being Young and Spritely, we dragged our Asses out of bed for the early ride time of 9am. After meeting up at a grid on a link track, We exchanged intro’s and got into it. Our ride upto the old mines was pretty steady, following open tracks. Came across a few others with the same idea, another older rider taking his sons for a trundle. A somewhat cruisy ride got us to the mines, a few(3-4) photos and off we went, back the way we came, before taking a turn up to an old gravel quarry. Now, having had a fair bit of rain lately there was a fair amount of water/mud holes for ‘Sirdropalot’ to play in..After a quick check on the camera( after the swimminmg/mudlarking was done :() we found our way to the quarry..which, for the first time since I’ve been riding the track, was full of bikes..Hooning about the place. A bit of consulting with each other saw the decision to vacate the quarry and head back to whence we came. Not the largest of rides but was a thoroughly enjoyable morning. Thanks ‘Sirdropalot’ for the company, lookn forward to the next ride.B)

Sorry about the lack of..next time i go ut that way, I’ll try to be smarter and take some photots of the whole area..This time around I thought it better not to disrupt the natives camped up in the area..the little hut is an old control room/Office. There are papaers and magazines in the huts, some as old as the 60’s 70’s. I reckon the natives and Co. were there for scrap metals..Some one/s been slowly stripping all the gear away. News is, the whole lots’ going to get re-opened in the very near future.

The photo of the skip bin on an angle is an old hauler(pumps etc), its sitting at the old entrance. The shaft is blocked up with super mud/heavy stone powder. No way any hobo is going to dig through it..LOl the stuff is real heavy on a shovel. Most peeps would give up after the first 3 odd shovel fulls. In the back areas to this there is a number of fan vents etc.

Ok being old I had to come home and have a bit of a ‘nanny’ nap before posting about ride. As Husky610 said, thanks to the ‘Old Bulls’ we managed to organise a ride in the Fraser coast. My day started off a bit fuzzy due to my granddaughters christening on saturday(good excuse for a drink or more)lucky for me we had agreed on 9:00 am start. I had my pit crew do some last minute mirror adjustments and checks for loose nuts(no not me:unsure: )

Met up and away we went on tracks all new to me so I was happy to just cruise along and check out the scenery. Like Husky610 I never got a lot of pics and we must have stuck close together as they are much the same as above:).

Husky610’s weapon of choice and I do mean weapon as he reminded me on a few occaisons its not a good idea to be tucked right in behind a 610 when the rider pulls the throttle on, I felt like a target at a rifle range:laugh:

Now boys and girls this is a lesson learnt, if your lead rider who knows the area goes around something it probably is a good idea to do the same;). Husky610 was forced to have a bit of a stop and wait while I decided to take a bath mid-ride. For a minute I thought I was at my other favourite sport of water skiing:blush:.
Went to Torbo servo after we had wound our way out and managed to run them out of fuel topping up our bikes, much to the annoyance of the cars that came in behind us:S . Had a pie and drink before parting ways and on the way home I had a bit of a play on some tracks I knew and managed to throw my bike on the ground 3 more times living up to my username. Good day had and only have a broken indicator lens and a bit of mud to clean off :woohoo:

Thank you to Husky610 for the company and showing me around and looking forward to that ride out Poona way. Thanks also mate for taking it easy for the old bloke finding his sea(bike…oh hang on after the water puddle maybe it is sea) legs again:).

Footnote: Sorry about the pics everyone I had something set so they all look blue green  , like computers cameras are also too hard for me:S .

Yeah mate I went into power line tracks for SHORT play before heading home and went from that to talking myself into going to the towers(hence the 3 drops). Had the place to myself didn’t see or hear a soul. Look forward to our next adventure and if you want you can play rougher with me  and make me work harder next time

Woo hoo thanks mate I lost a couple on saturday with people taking roadies with them when they left(my dad being the biggest offender, he always takes 2 roadies.). I shall treasure it. As for 1 hour 20 years behind, we resemble that remark:ohmy:

The brother in law is looking to get to Rainbow for a day. Will be an early start on a Sat. Possibly next w/e. I’ll keep you posted if your interested. On the Towers, yes, we should get up there soon, I’m sure i knowe of a set of real tight tricky stuff on the back side of the hill, takes you through some plate rock creek beds, slippery but fun.. I reckon i can find it once I’m on the hill…or get us both lost.:woohoo: :woohoo: The Rainbow ride shuld be a kicker though with a fair whack of attention going to be put into the kings bore area. This has been in the puipeline for awhile, just been waiting for the bro n law to get his bike rego’d. I think too he has FINALLY signed up here. as “Berg 03” ?
