I’ll be generous and give you two categories: Workshop and toolbag. You can have just one favourite overall or one for each category. Give us a reason and preferably a picture!
Workshop: I have a snap-on ratchet screwdriver and I love it. Easy action, easy to switch direction, has space in the handle for more tips. Great bit of gear.

Toolbag: Has to be my $19 multi-tool gizmo. Made by Kinchrome and designed for pushbikes, this little jigger has screwdriver bits, allen keys, a 1/4″ drive and three sockets. It folds down to about the size of a cigarette packet. I have two!

Nah I have over 40 odd grands worth of tools, my favourites are the ones I dont have to use anymore as it was my life for to long, Crash will tell you 80 plus hrs a week, couple of 100 plus weeks and all over the state in the same week chasing broken trucks for 10 plus years.

January 12, 2009 at 9:23 pm #117971Ah come on guys, what a copout! It was a tough call for me, particularly for the workshop, but if I had to pick just one it would be my screwdriver. You must have one tool that each time you use you think to yourself: “Geez I’m glad I got that!”

AnonymousMy new whipper snipper because it smashes up buckets in my garage which is actually quite a lot of fun! The next time I’ve got some hardpac dirt that I can’t get off I’ll get the snipper out

For the trails it’s my mutlitool that has 1/4 +1/2 drives, screwdrivers, allen keys, 3 different size spanners and some sockets included. It all zips up into a nice neat little pouch that come with it too

Moto buy a Yammie and you can throw away them tools. Off topic I know, but I could’nt help myself. Old habits are hard to kill.
Back on topic – I reckon a 12″ shifter is a good thing. Great for stuffing bolts and nuts and when it all gets a bit hard good for using as a hammer.
January 13, 2009 at 9:24 am #118145My favourite tool currently is a small headed telescopic magnet that allowed me to retrieve a broken snap ring from inside my gearbox before it had a chance to destroy the whole engine. Best $6 I have ever spent.
