I am going to QLD next weekend for two weeks I have to pick up my NX650 and bring it home from Bundaberg whilst I am up there working. Then when I get home I have to take three bikes to Wauchope and back for micks weekend up there, plus all the other countless miles my trailer seems to be doing and I guess always has, it made we wonder how often does everyone else check and repack their trailer wheel brgs? I do mine a lot, maybe to often, whats the general thought

I`m no expert TB, but would have to think that regular checking/repacking can only be a good thing for the wearable parts,,,,,
How many times do ya see caravans, boat trailers, box trailers etc on the side of the road, broken down packed to the hilt on their way to a holiday destination etc:blush:
If they checked their bearings, this would be avoided HEY:) :)
    Cheers

When I was riding all round NSW I used to do mine every 5000km of trailer use.Its also a good idea to carry a spare set all greased up ready to go in if needed as they are only about $30 a set.

nothing worse than having to leave your trailer on the side of the road then head into a garage or town and hope to hell that they have some bearings. remember the 5 p’s

    prior planning prevents pisspoor performance

Are you suppose to check those things? I thought collasped wheel bearings only happened to other people. You know how it is when you see some one of the side of the road and you say “shit bad luck hope it never happens to me”

I’m a bit guilty of neglecting trailer wheel bearings. When they start making noise I usally do something with them.

That is ridiculous Dan. More to the point is just plain stupid and lazy. How hard is it to get a $30 set of spare bearings to carry with you if you are going to adopt that stupid attitude?

The answer is too hard as I’m exactly the same

If my bike needs anything, and I mean anything, it gets it. My trailer however……I will probably buy a new trailer before it gets new wheel bearings!

    I wouldn’t be nasty to Dan :)

HA HA, we know the real deal hey Moto ????

I’m another one guilty of trailer abuse. Had my trailer 10 years and the only time I know the bearings were done is when a mate did them when he borrowed it to move north.

Got me thinkin I need to get my mate to borrow it again.
