Last weekends foray into the ditch didn’t do my tail light assembly a lot of good, so it is time for it to go.(thank Christ!! says TB )
On Friday I ordered some goodies from Ballards and they turned up this morning. So the big girl is gunna get some lypo on her arse end this arvo.
I am thinking she will loose at least 2kg once the tail light ,blinkers and subframe are gone.
I will post a pic when she is done.February 9, 2009 at 3:14 am #121598+1 to TB’s comment! Never realised how damn huge and ugly those stock taillight assemblies were until the other weekend!
See, running into a chasm was a good thing after all Mick!

AnonymousNo you can’t use the differential in weight distribution as an excuse when you fall of doing your next wheelie

February 9, 2009 at 7:31 pm #121615Here is how the BRP’s big fat arse end looked before last nights operation.
Here she is with her new slim look.
Here is what came off, total weight 2.3kg.
The new tail light and guard weighed approx 400 grams so the total weight saved is actually 1.9kg. Also considering I got rid of the stock ten tonne pipe she is much lighter and slimmer in the nether regions now.
Total cost of the guard and light replacement $133.00 plus six beers.
February 9, 2009 at 7:42 pm #121667February 9, 2009 at 7:47 pm #121668That is the angle of the shot, I just lined up the guard to follow the line of the seat and side covers and all is good.
It looks sweet, heaps better than it did before.February 9, 2009 at 7:53 pm #121669February 9, 2009 at 7:55 pm #121670February 9, 2009 at 8:10 pm #121599Sorry Micknmeld have to agree with TB in original pic end of guard is down near muffler tip..new pics show it well above:huh:
February 9, 2009 at 8:18 pm #121672Two totally different shape guards, the original has 45 degree bend in it and the new one is straight. Once you sit on the bike the new guard is relatively parallel to the ground. It will come down a little when it is bolted in proper.

Actually re-looking at pics it doesn’t look much different to how the rear guard looks on the kwaka in the background.
February 9, 2009 at 8:38 pm #121674Just went to the shed and unbolted it again and dropped the guard by 2″ at the end and it just doesn’t look right as it doesn’t match the lines of the bike and a big gap between the guard and the seat appears.
It has taken on more of a MX’er look now. I am happy with the way it looks so that is all that matters ay? -
