    Hi All, Interesting site to calculate gearing etc, Slug also has a excel spreadsheet version which he has offered to email to anyone that wants it, just PM him.

    Looks like 14-48 on the wr is right smack in the middle and could be a good compromise and give a bit more top end. I have the 48 sprocket but have yet to test it. I only really bought it cause it’s GOLD and adds a bit of bling.!

    I would rely on it. It says the top speed of my bike with the gearing I’m running (14/52) is 139Km/h. When in fact it will exceed this speed in 5th gear. It out at 163Km/h. Even with some speedo error it’s miles out…..

    Knob size & tyre profile difference?

    No I changed the details for tyre profile. To get the speed I am getting out of the bike I need to run 16/49 gearing :laugh: Knob size would have very minimal impact. Besides, the last time I hit that speed was on a road with a worn (smaller) tyre. So technically it should be slower if anything.
