For Chrissy Santa left me some Answer Racing Alpha knee guards.

These things are the ducks guts! I walked around in them for days doing my best impression of Robo cop! Bloody things are hinged in two places and seem to offer plenty of protection.

So Last month I went for a ride. Just the one ride mind you and they worked fine…didn’t even know they were there!

Then I went to take them off…

They are held together with alloy bolts. Well, they were when I started the ride! So I’m standing there with a pair of knee guards with missing fasteners. No dramas I thought, never one to be easily upset.

I rock down to the dealer to order some spare, sh1t happens sometimes. Bloke behind the counter undertakes to speak to the rep and order the spares.

I’m in no hurry, needing to check the valves on the Vor before I go out again anyway but today I pop in to be told that there are NO sares for Answer knee guards. None.

Now I know, I could go out to the shed and cobble together a fix for them…but for the price that was paid for them and the fact that they lasted one ride…

I’ve fired off an email to the dealer, maybe they’ll be replaced. Pity really, it’s only a couple of bolts, surely the importer could source and supply spares!

Would I recommend them? Not at this point.

No not a bitch thread at all, a product appraisal.
If you want to bitch about your boots, start a new thread…;)

That’s not good Shane. Sounds like you were much more level headed than I would have been I had some decent knee gaurds that broke on the fist ride!

I hope the dealer does the right thing and sorts a new set out for you.

Nah Moto, all’s good. I’ve learnt that going off half-cocked or even fully cocked for that matter doesn’t alway get the result you’re after.

I emailed the dealer cause I couldn’t find the importer on the internets…damn google search!, with a view to complaining to them.

The response I received was along the lines of, “We’ve ordered the parts they are on the way, ome in and we’ll give you some from a pair we have in stock.” Appears to have been a communication breakdown so I printed the email and walked back in with it. Apparently this is a common problem with these guards.

Thankfully and as usual, they came to the party and sorted my problem out…See? We do have good sponsors here!!! ;)
