Check out this link. It isn’t just Yamaha it is industry wide.
It is happening now in the States and like usual we Aussies are more than likely to follow blindly.http://www.yamaha-motor.com/sport/products/modelhome/478/0/home.aspx
Rediculous.

February 23, 2009 at 5:29 am #123479It will be scary watching little tackers on 85cc bikes:ohmy:
February 23, 2009 at 5:29 am #123480It was brought in I think 14 Feb in the states but it wont last long, there is already talk of “revisions”for certain industries…the reality is How long will it take for the red tape brigade to catch up, The stupid thing as far as lead content goes is how many kids under 12 will suck on their plastics, and it is only the mini market that the rules effect, so obviously adults don’t suck anything with lead in it…..we wont go there hey:laugh:
February 23, 2009 at 5:37 am #123482So are mini bikes one of the 5 food groups nowadays? The world changes too fast for me to keep up!

April 3, 2009 at 8:17 pm #128037It is still going on over there.
If your kid dies from chewing on his/her KX65, that is a fine example of natural selection at work.November 18, 2009 at 1:15 am #128046I was just on The Thumpertalk store, pricing some goodies for the kids bikes and there is a notice at the top of the page that says.
OEM parts for the following small cc motorcycles & ATVs have been banned by the US CPSC!
Please do not place OEM part orders for the following:•Honda XR/CRF 50/70/90, TRX 90
•Yamaha TT 50, PW 50, Raptor 50
•Suzuki LTZ 50/90, LTA 50, LT 80, RM 60/85, DRZ 70/110/125, JR 50/80

November 18, 2009 at 1:32 am #161559The USA has become a nightmare of legislation, it is inherent with their form of “democracy” that any idiot in the senate with a bit of clout can enact any piece of stupidity ythey can push through, the system of smoke and mirrors politics means the legislation whence enabled may little resemble the original intention.
We are vastly different, thank god for two seperate houses to keep tabs on each other.
In this respect the Westminster system kicks arse…The french are equally as stupid as the USA, guess why?

November 18, 2009 at 1:49 am #161570Close Mr Rat, the systems are modelled off each other, which is why even though i am a republican, their form is not the sort we would want, keep the monarchy if it is.
