O.K guys I have done some testing and at present I cannot find any issue with the email notifications, if you are not getting these notifications but are signed up for them, could you pm me your email address so I can test individual email addresses. Also you may need to check any Junk/Spam mail filters that are active either on your side or on your ISP side to make sure the messages are not going to Junk/Spam, most ISP’s have a webmail interface where you can check your Junk/Spam folder. If they are going to Spam you will need to create an exception for *obtrailriders.com to allow these messages through to your inbox. I suspect this may be what is happening in some instances.

    Cheers
    Chris.

I think mine must be going to some dodgy hotmail account I’ve only ever used to sign up to forums that ban me shortly thereafter…I couldn’t tell if I was getting notifications or not…

and I haven’t been banned yet either! I must be gettin old!

Please fix up PM email notification while you are at it as well. This would be a nice forum feature to have.

Is it possible to be able to send members emails from the site as well? That way, those who may not be able to access the site via their workplace network, can still get any messages, or be aware that someone has PM’ed them.

O.K slug just for you, email notifications for PM;s are now working, well works for me anyway, you can modify these settings by going to your PM’s, and clicking the settings button at the bottom. Don’t ask about the pop-up yet. If I was to enable sending of emails to members from members then we would have to expose the email address which opens us up to spammers and spam bots etc. There are other ways of doing it but for the moment I am not going to look into it until some other issues are resolved.

    Cheers

Pop-Up message notification now working, you can turn it off under the settings if it annoys the hell out of you. Also upgraded the PM software to latest greatest newest version.

    Cheers
    Chris.
