I would say stay with the bigger front sprocket as bigger front wears slower, thus chain wears slower, and chain runner protecting the swing arm will wear slower

;) what about sprocket size for the rear, I dont want to trials ride it but the darn thing is always stalling on fair down hills, and I would like more punch out of the corners in 3rd.

That’s true, if you can get the bigger rear sprocket in without having to change the chain, go that way. I just flogged the hell out of my clutch with my banana. Good skill to have.

Edit: Mate, clutch clutch clutch. Gets you all the power you need any time you need it, stops stalling and saves on sprockets!

Try the 49, 1 tooth on the front is close enough to the same as changing 4 on the back ( I know its 3.848763, but 4 is close enough)

Not really! Just set your sights on a big mother of a hill, like mega steep, first gear stuff. Then try to go up it! You’ll find the clutch will get you up there. Once you are used to that, try it in second gear, third gear and Bob’s yer mother’s brother! Seriously, if you do this I reckon 3 weeks and you won’t have any problems! The DRZ’s have great clutches and can take a fair old hiding!

Mate 14/47 on the DRZ is already pretty low, not many hill’s she won’t climb with that gearing. Ive gone the other way to 14/44 and still has a pretty low first.
