Due to popular demand…… we are going to do a scenic day ride from the Watagans through to Wisemans Ferry. Eagle wanted to do it after Easter and then we had baby sitting issues so we are looking at either the 2nd or 3rd of May.

The idea is that we’ll start from the Pines then travel out past the basin (doing some single trail along the way) and come out near the Letter A. You ride along the road then for a little bit and then turn left down Mogo Creek Road. There are lots of historic places to stop along the way as this is the old Convict Trail. Eventually you end up at St Albans which has a pub that we can have lunch at.

We have done this trip twice now and don’t think that there is fuel at St Albans. We could be wrong because maybe we just couldn’t find it. If there isn’t we can whip into Wiseman’s Ferry for fuel but this is OK because you can do the dirt road one way and back along the road on the way back so it’s not so boring. I think it’s only about 20kms in to Wisemans. Also you get to do 2 ferry trips which is really quite a novel feeling.

I can post more accurate km’s at a later time but it should be roughly 240kms round trip so plenty of time for more single trail on the way back. Also there seems to be lots of side tracks on the Mogo Creek Road so if anyone knows of some good ones let us know.

The tracks are all fire trail/dirt roads, with some single trail and very, very easy. This ride is more of a nice, cruisy scenic ride.

I know that Eagle and RaceyTracy have shown interest in this ride so I am keen to know if either of these dates are fine and if not what date is. Also don’t worry, I’m not leading so you won’t be stuck behind me. Although if you are you just might get to see my stand on the bike trick with pants down. :woohoo: :woohoo:

Just kidding. I can ride standing on the seat of the bike but only with pants up.

Also I don’t know if we need a support vehicle. As I said before we’ve done it twice with just the two of us but TB might be able to give a bit of guidance with this.

    Sorry about the novel.

This sounds great Kylie. Count me in.

We have been trying to do this ride again for ages. We have done a very similar ride on the NX a little while back but I am keen to ride the TTR myself. I think Champo is keen to take the NX.

Either day will suit us, so we will go with the group on this.

    Thanks for organising Kylie!

All right! The 3rd it is. Also we were throwing around the idea of maybe staying up there the night before but it would be heaps better if we had company. Let me know if anyone is interested. If we did this we might also do some Watagans stuff on the Saturday afternoon. We’ll see.

Nah, scrap that. Change of plans. If anyone is interested you can stay at our place on the Saturday night as it’s only a 30min ride to the Pines from our place. That way we can have a BBQ the night before and we won’t have any kids. :woohoo: :woohoo:

i’m taking the nx too. racytracy can ride up back or run along side on her ttr. she has some duel purpose (though mostly road) tyres that she can run too if we go the road way to wiseman’s.

if yous don’t want to come all the way to newy then ride half way home, we could always meet you and salina for lunch
