Since the site started 11 months ago the site costs have been picked up by Chris and Myself, these costs at first haven’t been much and we have funded the site from our own pockets and been happy enough to do so.
We purchased stubbie holders that Chris and I paid for, the stickers we had some help from Mick and Crash and Ollie and Gilli helped by donating some seal savers that they made, and we have recovered some of those costs (not all)

We have received some good and bad news today, that is that OBT has grown and this is good news because it opens so many doors for all of us on the site, its easy to get on a ride with like mined people, get technical advice, deals through shops, help on all sorts of things, have a chat, catch up out side motor bikes and make good friends. And all of this is free, the likes of a Hillend Ride with a tour company would cost you $350 minimum, how do you cost 3 days at Wauchope or the up coming Caves to Caves ride. I have ridden with tour companies and they do a great job, but our rides are every bit as good, with support vehicles, great tracks and people you know.

Now the Bad news, all of this comes at a cost, we have had to increase our bandwidth where our site is hosted, previously our bandwidth has sat at about 10-12gb per month now we have gone over that and we need to increase it to around 25gb per month, this is only one cost we have, also we pay for our name registration, e mail name, server costs etc

We are asking for your help to keep this wonderful tool for us all going, OBT is registered as a not for profit organisation and will always remain that way whilst ever Chris and I own it, we don’t make money from this and our goal is for it always to remain a free site but we need help with these costs

We are asking for donations to help us pay, we know that times are tough but we want to keep this growing and remaining the way it is now, if you can spare $5, $10, $50 or even $100 whatever please help in the grand scheme of what you get in return its very very cheap if you think about it.

Donations can be made by bank transfer to the account below:

    National Australia Bank
    BSB: 082-774
    A/C: 675433410
    Account Name: Cheque
    Name (if required): G Yager
    Description: OBT fund 888

If you wish to PM me and let me know its done and through or you can remain nameless, it doesn’t matter no one will know besides us

We will in the future have a paypal tab on the site that you can make paypal donations at any time but for now we will do it by bank transfer

All donations will be remain private

If you wish to pay by cheque or cash please PM me and we can organise it

    TB & Chris

will definatly be investing in the continuation of this site.
Thinking, should the donations reach over and above our requirements to cover the admin cost of Oldbulls we could have future OBT of the year type comps or simular with the remaining funds to which donatees can enter.

Anything over and above of course would go towards events and prizes for all on the site but remembering we have monthly on going expenses, we could and would have monthly prizes like we started a while ago

I will make regular donations to the site over the course of the year :) I get great value from the site and it’s worth paying money to keep it running.

Congrats to the OBT team for a great effort so far. Happy to help out.

Just made a donation to get the ball rolling.

Good idea Moto about regular donations through the year. Might do the same myself.

I might just treat myself to a ride this arvo now.:woohoo:

    Great idea.

Is a $20 (or some amount)annual fee to keep your name/rego on the site worth thinking about? This also keeps users current and not collecting info from heaps of people no longer using the site? Also will help with the admin fees.

i think a annual fee would be okay but it should be free for the first 3 or 6 months otherwise no one would join with a fee up front. we would pay because we no how good the site is already

We may do and extra membership club in the future where being a annual financial member has some benefits and can maybe access some extra things but we will see.

    Are donations tax deductable?
What about membership payments? Say with the benefit of discounts at functions like the chrissy party?
I dunno talking out my arse again probably but I’d rather pay a membership fee than make a donation.
What about a special edition member sticker (not a stcker for your member!) or something like that?

And what about shirts?!?! I collect forum shirts you know?

I’d hate to see a special section on the forum for paying members, that’s a bit too elitist for me:lol:

edit (oh snap! the big guy typed that as I was typing this!!!)
