May 9, 2009 at 11:09 am #133024Mike, I agree its been a while since the Queensland contingent went for a ride. Here’s a couple of ideas.
Idea 1………What about Fraser Is. stay 1 night or 2. Dont know where to stay or when to go. If a vehicle or 2 was to go then we could also take fishing gear (tailor are running soon)and/or camping gear. Dont have any details just putting it out there.Idea 2………Could do Rainbow Beach and cooloola area stay the night at the Kin Kin pub.
Idea 3………Northern NSW?
Are there any other organised rides where we could meet at?

May 13, 2009 at 1:32 am #133314I personally like the Northern NSW idea, as I am caught betwixt a rock and a hard place with locations ie: many old bulls are riding 4-5 hours away from I, in the hunter and macleay areas, but I am a hop skip and a bunny hop from the QLDers.
As long as you don’t tell every queenslander and they invade us (too bloody late for some areas here, they get airlifted out regularly at New idiot) you could do a nice sedate little ride in say maybe the “Woodenbong” area.
Not that i personally know of any good areas to ride up there so don’t ask me OK:dry:BC

I believe that is still forbidden in the bananna bending state, punishable by making you ride a KTM.

May 13, 2009 at 9:02 am #134002Id most likely travel for a look around Fraiser Is.
that would be a awsome trip wonder if we could talk them into a group bookingMay 13, 2009 at 9:13 am #134005A ride up north would be good , come on guys whats happening
May 13, 2009 at 9:14 am #132969Fraser is a real possibility and they are doing deals at Kingfisher over the coming months (stay 3nights pay for) so it would be cool to ride up from Noosa catch the ferry over and ride to the resort, stay for a weekend, explore the island then ride back to noosa:P

Where did I say I was going….I just said it would be good….Now about going…oh my I would have to talk it up a bit first and then cancel at the last minute:laugh:
I think it would be a good thing to have a ride up there with the OB crowd though:)
May 13, 2009 at 9:27 am #132970Hey…I’ve been busy for awhile and hence Absent from the site for a bit now.I’ve been trying to find some Old roads out the back of Maryborough to Biggenden, to Gayndah bypassing as much Blacktop as possible. Some of the tracks are old convict roads used Waaaaaay back in the day..blah blah blah. I dont have a GPS and Maps are rather Scarce on detail for me and my Dyslectic melon soo its taking a bit of time.( getting UNLOST is time consuming bussiness).Sirdropalot has “Dropped” off the map lately so I do this Solo and with great care, when I can get away.( Just bought house so am too busy to get away recently)I estimate the ride would be on the 250-300 klm round journey, with fuel availabale along the way. I just need to find a couple more old roads first. Or we’d all be Un-Loosing ourselves. ..
Rainbow Beach/Cooloola Way track is Ok with a Mix of Sand(Duh) and clay/quartz shale.Plenty of camp grounds along the beach front.May 13, 2009 at 9:30 am #134021So what grade ride are you talking about here?
May 13, 2009 at 9:30 am #132971Deals at Kingfisher…Hmmm the Camping on the beach would be rather cheaper again?? Unless Mike….the dingo’s are a Worry??..Funny you know, I’ve been here 15 odd yrs..never been on the Island? Been all around it on boats..never on it.
