Hi all – I committed to getting you a update…
Just to recap you helped us out yesterday when Aidan fell off his BMW and broke his leg…
Aidan is presently at Westmead Hospital awaiting surgery to have plates and screws inserted to his broken leg.
We were very very fortunate that you came along so shortly after he fell – it was a nmatter of minuets as for the next four hours apart from the ambulance no sight of anyone else…the space blanket was invaluable and the panadol [et al also helped]. Thank you for raising the alarm. A recap of events for all:
– going up slight slope back slides out and and bike and Aidain fall – do 180degree turn and Aidan comes to rest side on side of track facing where he came from – immediately calls out his view that he has broken his leg…
– within minutes of the incident you guys approach
– help out with support – physical and material – space blanket tablets [invaluable as he was on the ground for a few hours] and so on
– you leave to raise alarm [thanks !!!]
– a couple of hours later – 4wd ambulance arrives from Oberon
– helicopter attempts to land but cant – drops off a paramedic and dr
– after treatment – morphine etc – transported by ambulance to Mt Werong emergency helipad
– then taken to Westmead by helicopter
– broken leg confirmed and surgery scheduled for today…
– I hid his bike as best i could in the bushes nearby and hoping to go in today to pick it up
– I rode out to Oberon and then back to Sydney last night
Again – folks thank you very much for your help.
If Aidan or I can you assist you in anyway just let us know…
Cheers
Craig

Anonymousgood to here from you. glad we could help.
some of the places that racytracy and i have taken our nx would be scary if we crashed.
we try to ride in groups now. or in places with traffic.that bit of track is more slipery then it looks. i fell over just walking around.
May 25, 2009 at 12:23 am #136167Good on Ya Craig and thanks for the update, we were all probably wondering how Aiden got along.

Chris.May 25, 2009 at 12:41 am #136166Thx for offer.
I was meeting with Aidans wife when you did the post – at this stage the plan is to go in on Wednesday to get it out – I just gave her the keys/garmin [what i could get out…] etc. I can not help as I am off to Brisbane for a few days for work.
I am catching up with her again by phone later today and if that falls over will be in touch…
By the way – apparently seven breaks between ankle and knee and in hospital until Thursday and on crutches for some time…
Cheers

AnonymousCheers for the update Craig, it’s good to hear Aiden got to hospital and is now in good hands. He looked very pale and must have been in intense pain with 7 breaks
I’m sure if there is anything any of the guys here can do to help with the bike they will.
Please pass on my well wishes to Aiden, I hope he has a speedy recovery and is on the bike again soon
