In all the recent rain my trusty porta-shade tent thingy packed it in. Lucky it was at home and not while I was away! It was an alloy one, (I picked alloy cause it was much lighter to cart around! Turned it was much easier to break as well? Ended up like one of Moto’s camp chairs!)

Can anyone reccomend a new one? I don’t think I could live without one of these again, they’re tops! Stand around in the rain or shade in summer. I now need a new one.

We.ve got one that for 4 or 5 years has been everywhere with us, from regional rounds to camping, rain hail, shine it’s still a little ripper, trailmaster or some such brand, got it from local camping store.
Slept in it earlier this month at the Relay for life, put 2 sides up and it was all we needed.

They’re all fairly well the same now, but check the plastics out, some are better than others.

    Do you mean like this

If so I’ve been eyeing off the one in the ballards cattle dog for a while which seems to be priced well ~$300 just not sure on quality.

Qikshade are the original and best, but are way more than most of the others, about $200-250 will see you in a 3.0×3.0 good quality unit.

Ours was $300ish a few years ago but now is only $180.

Buy from local camping people, but not the local camp people………

Here’s the Oztrail ones, very popular round here (NSW northcoast/SE QLD highest mortality rate of anywhere in the world from melanoma)starting prices around $150 and are excellent value.

We have an oztrail 3mx3m. We have had it for about 4yrs and had no troubles at all. We bought the optional sides both mesh(flie screen) and solid sides and have even camped in it a few times. FEZ.

I got mine from Supercheap auto for $159 on sale normally $249, has been very good after almost a year and my wife can even put it up, one thing I liked about it’s design over most of the others i have seen is the centre frame, it folds up high out of the way, which for camping is great as you can lower the whole thing down of a night too sleep under and keep the dew off both bike and self
the bag is also good and made of canvas

That sounds great I reckon, I’d only seen the solid sides.
