Does anybody have a rear shock to suit a 76/77 model It 400? I have a mate who has tried just about everywhere with no luck. The price to refurbish was way too much.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    How much is too much?

    Tried the wreckers?
They are all online now I believe, you should get an answer in a couple of days.

How bad is it? It might just need an oil change (less than $100), that can make a big difference you know if the shock can be serviced.

If it still moves and is not leaking I’d give that a go.

I’ve found that wreckers in country areas have alot of older stock. Try JDK wreckers at Toormina on XXXXXXXXXX or email them on XXXXXXXXXXXXXX , good luck.

Edit 3/9/11 Don’t try these guys. I have recently had nothing but bad reports about this mob.

An IT400C eh? sure it’s not working just as the factory intended it to? the yamaha monoshock was the original PDS in my opinion, a good twin laydown system poohed all over the ealier ones.
Chances are any from the wreckers at that age (30+ yrs) is going to be in poor shape anyway, I remember Paul Rooney of Rooneytune used to do a good job at making them work, but i believe he has retired to a little country town, but there’s still others around that had good reps with them.
