Well day one is done and dusted including dinner, Rumbos’ and sweets.
Well no ride report tonight, there as interesting things that should be shared from the almost 450 odd klms covered
Riding through the Watagans in the pitch black is hard work
Wombats that you almost hit it the dark frighten the hell out of you and the wombat from a country practices name was??
Crash struggles to laugh and ride in the dark (talking whilst riding with blue tooth can be so much fun)
It was colder traveling up through Laugna Valley this morning at 6.30 then anywhere else today (just) including sunny corner
Man tears whats that about?
164kms/hr is cracking on the dirt (GPS locked and confirmed)
The A track that we rode 40 odd klms on is one of the most fun tracks I have ever ridden, it has sand, it had fine sand, whoops, slow windrows, fast windrows and really fast windrows, up hills, down hills, single trail, twin trail, mud, in bush, in long grass and is really fun, (thanks Mal for the hook up)
One sand section can claim three riders and 5 falls between them in a very small section  (me included)
People at Mountain Lagoon are the worst and most inconsiderate drivers ever
Nice hamburgers at Capertee servo
How is it possible both DR’s got flat at exactly the same time, Boulder front, Jeffro rear
When Dan gets tired he gets sloppy he said that, what does it mean
Kylie has whacking balls
Whats with the grass hoppers Dan??
Why couldnt Dan get up the hill climb after so many trys yet hops on Crashes 650 that he has never ridden and goes further then he can on his bike and Crash who rode to the top on his 650, cant get a quarter of the way up on Dan’s bike, well let me tell it was the rear tyre wait for the video
We rode a heap of hard work trails today, not just fire trails or twin there was some hard work tracks, creek crossings, some snotty muddy hills, heaps of sand, rocky tracks, rutted trails, it sleeted and was cold in some spots, but at times the weather was great, now just need an excuse to get in the car tomorrow
The girls did a great job and were at every stop waiting, jerry cans waiting thanks girls
Whats with Jeffro’s magic sunglasses?
Also what a great bunch of guys to ride long distances with, we hardly stopped on the trails and just kept peddling hard
Bring on tomorrow
Oh yeah there’s some pictures and videos (especially Dans retread struggling)
TB

Sounds like a great ride, Dan, can u do a bit of a comparo between the 250 & 450, would you have taken the 250 on this ride.
Cheers

AnonymousEven though I wasn’t riding all I can say is what a great time I had on this trip. Salina and I had heaps of funny moments and we just generally had a great time.
I clocked up 987kms starting from 4:30am Saturday morning until 6:30pm tonight. In those 987kms I had no near accidents (none my fault anyway), pissed a truck driver off by parking in his spot, refined my trailer reversing skills and killed possibly 2 but definetly 1 little birdies playing chicken (
).
I have heaps of funny moments and pictures to share but maybe later.
July 5, 2009 at 9:26 am #142281:woohoo: What a weekend, some of the best and worst trails I have ridden. 3 dirt naps (or more 1 rock nap and 2 sand ones) and 1 tree that I got up close and personal with. Pictures were few and far between due to the big distances we had to travel.
I was trying to get a glimpse of some of the scenery but was geting whiplash trying to turn my head tha quickly. At times it was some of the fastest riding I have ever done, the only way to improve the riding skills though.
Thanks to Boulder the super sweep, Crash for the loan of the tube and the gas cylinder, I will get your replacements to you as soon as I can. Thanks to TB for the organising and Dan for being Dan (in all fairness to the retread he did seam to spend most of the ride on the back wheel. Thanks also to the great support crew of Kylie and Salina, always where they were told to be, on time and in good spirits (all women should be like that
 ), great job girls.
The rear tank worked a charm, the first time I got 63Km out of it, the second time I only got 55km but may have lost some during my 3 lie downs, then 63 again and 75 on day 2 when we had a fair bit of road work.
Thanks also to Chicken for looking after our cars while we were out having fun, shame you missed it mate.
Thanks go too to Mal5.1 for joining us for dinner and bringing his lovely missus too, it was nice to meet you.
I think I need to have a little lie down now, everything aches but well worth it
 .

Chris.[/quote]Chris if I didn’t have the 450 I would of done it on the 250, but I reckon the 450 done it easier than the 250 would of. That’s not dissing the 250 but I really enjoy what the 450 offers. For me it makes the whole riding experience that much better.
The same can’t be said about my MX Retread:unsure: (but I was warned:dry: )
July 5, 2009 at 10:27 am #142309Good to see you guys and girls made it home safely. Sounds like it was an enjoyable ride. It was good to catch up for a beer and dinner.
How did the eyes hold up Dan, they looked like crap last night.
Hey TB I swapped Mick (the owner of the motel) a packet of jerky for a beer for the trip home last night.:woohoo: We stayed a chatted to him and his wife for half an hour as we lived next door to them for ten years, so I was to catch up them as well.
July 5, 2009 at 10:46 am #142282What a weekend!! Starting at Chickens and a big thank you to him and his family for there hospitality sleeping by that fire was the warmest that i would be all weekend.:side:
This weekend we rode just about every type of trail that you could imagine and there were some rippers let me tell you!! I could ride track “A” all day its just awsome.
TB i dont know how you remember where all these trails are mate!! Thanks for another top ride.
The best part of this weekend was the people! What a top crew the girls didnt miss a beat all weekend and they had our fuel food and drinks waiting ready to go just like a pit stop and never complained even when i had a puncture and kept them waiting.
Thanks to TB for all the organising and Crash DanD and Jeffro for a really memorable ride.
Cant wait for the pics”July 5, 2009 at 10:52 am #142283hats off to you guys….you must be shagged….what a bloody amazing effort…well done and sleep well:)

AnonymousSorry for this really long post but there was just heaps to report
Here’s the list of my funny moments on the trip
Leaving home at 4:30 in the morning
Watching DanD ride in the dark with his bright pink neck scarf
Driving through Cessnock McDonalds drive-thru with the trailer on
Working out what to do when the Navman said to go a different way to TB’s directions
Working on developing a patent for a Navman voice that actually gets cranky at you for going the wrong way (just to simulate reality)
Getting to the half way house and having TB find that the trailer toolbox lid had been open for god knows how long. I even took a picture of the car and trailer and didn’t even notice that the lid was open:blink:
Salina & I trying to increase our overall water intake to avoid brain fog
Me walking into a pole at Colo Heights after being excited that they provided Cycle Torque at the servo
Going to the Loo at Belpin and having the toilet move with me whilst looking for the toilet paper (not a nice feeling)
Salina putting the idea in my head that a guy that stopped to talk to us at the Black Fellow Hand Trail was going to murder us (or worse…. Try and tell us what to do) and that when he was on the phone he was ringing his friends to tell them where to come and get us
Having the Navman telling us to ‘turn left now’ into some farmers fence
Me eating Crash’s works burger for lunch and him ending up with my cheeseburger
Reversing the trailer out of the service station at Capertee
Going loopy at Portland and driving somewhere I really shouldn’t have been with the trailer on
Trying to find Mal’s place and having Salina say ‘I wish we had his phone number’ when I had seen it on the top of the boxes we were supposed to deliver and didn’t even click about it
Parking in a truck drivers ‘spot’ on a public road and have him get cranky at me (he did wave later on so maybe he got over it very quickly)
Having the navman tell us to drive up a steep dirt embankment
Wondering if the reason that TB was sending us back to Lithgow and not on to Bathurst was because there was a hospital in Lithgow (we didn’t know if there was one in Bathurst anyway)
Reversing the trailer into the back of a servo at Lithgow and sitting there waiting for about an hour. There’s debate about whether TB actually said to go and sit at a servo or go to somewhere and have coffee
Watching 3 little boys at the back of the servo get into mischief
Surprising everyone in the McDonalds carpark by knowing all of the motels in the Lithgow
Reversing the trailer at the motel
Drinking nearly a whole bottle of wine by myself at dinner :SIt gets a little bit fuzzy for this bit because it’s hard to remember
Somehow saying that I was going to use DanD’s balls to whack grasshoppers that were going to jump into our bed at 3:40am on Saturday morning
Seeing Mal & Donna aka Yin and Yang. Mal’s got no hair and Donna’s hair is a beautiful mane of hair (absolutely gorgeous)
Smoking cones with Boulder at some stage (not really but you just had to be there)
Having TB point out that we had Mal’s phone number the whole time
Missing my mouth with the wine glass
Being waken up numerous times through the night because someone’s disc lock alarm was going off
Watching DanD getting up numerous times during the night to check the bikes when the alarm was going off
Seeing TB find a use for his head (he uses it to hold up his bike whilst lubing the chain)
Reversing the trailer out of the carpark in the motel
Having Salina realise that either a) I was still drunk the next morning when I missed my mouth drinking my coffee or b) that I must always miss my mouth regardless of if I am drunk or not
Wanting to take a guy down a few pegs for what he was saying where we got breakfast
Seeing Salina get pooed on by a bird at the Halfway house
Seeing how much water Salina and I had actually drunk over the two days
Driving a stretch of road on Sunday that we drove on Saturday that we didn’t even remember because of the juicy story I was telling Salina at the timeUnforgettable moments
Seeing the line of frost out near Milbrodale
Watching Boulder lube his chain – really coolDisappointing moments
Finding out that Chicken wasn’t able to join in for the ride
Forgetting to even say goodbye to Mal and Donna. Salina and I were both really upset about that and can’t work out how that happened. Sorry guys, real sorry about that
Finding out that Jeffro lost his hairband/sunglasses
Seeing 2 birds play chicken with our car and knowing that one ended up coming out the back of the car bouncing on the road and feathers flying everywhere (I still believe that it could have recovered and flew off)I do have some photos of the trip but I will post them later
July 5, 2009 at 11:42 am #142322
AnonymousI forgot to add the nicest part of the trip.
Watching Boulder make sure that all the guys were OK.
Salina and I were so impressed by Boulder and said that the Old Bull of the Year title couldn’t have gone to a more deserving guy.
