Hey Bulls
When I stand up on my 05WR250F the bars feel like they are rolled back too far but looking at them on the bike they are not. The culprit I suspect is too much sweep. It is the stock bar and they have a rise kit installed under them. Standing up puts my wrists at an awkward bend and they feel too close to me.
Does sweep sound like my issue and if so does anyone know of a set of bars that are more neutral but have a decent rise.
Cheers
July 6, 2009 at 5:42 am #142345My advice STM, is to take your bike in your ute to you local shop, that provides good service and remove your bars in the car park, and loosely fit different bars and stand on your pegz trying them out until you find a set that are right, Mr Blue said something here on the site regarding bars and individual tastes, the car park thing may seem strange, and you dont need to fit grips etc but you will get a better idea than standing in a shop holding bars. If your shop wont help get a better shop

There are four shops in Coffs not counting the one that sells bikes with V-Twins and slick rubber so I will give it a go.
July 18, 2009 at 4:35 am #142346STM,
Have a look at the Renthal Jimmy Button bars they are higher but have a cross bar,(good for tall blokes) not sure if your running fat bars.On the Renthal site you can put in your bike model and search the options and will list the different sweeps available.
cheers

Felt Perfect for me @ 185cm, I know someone shorter that ran the same on an 04 & was happy with them
July 18, 2009 at 6:48 am #144272Cheers Boys
I am 185cm so these sound good but my setup is fat bars.
Do they have an OS option?
August 1, 2009 at 12:22 am #144278After studying rises and sweeps I have my new setup. The Button bar as suggseted looked right but my bike has fat bar adapters on it so I took that into account and the Windham bar was a good match.
Compared to what I took off the bike I think it should be perfect. Sitting and standing on the bike stand it feels so right.
While I was at it I thought I should do the job properly and put some new pillow tops on and matching bar plugs.
TB and Menace have impressed me with their detailing so I got some matching gold bling just to top her off.
Breather hose
And valve caps and rim locks
You can see the stance it has now
Now if I can just find a babysitter for a couple of hours I am going to go and muddier her up:woohoo:

I spoke to a few dealers and they said it sounds like a dodgy dog. I am going to put it in the local Yami shop so that they can check it out.

I also got the Renthal button bend on the DRZ. The extra height ment I did not need to get bar risers.

Sounds like after last night you will only need one half of that Button bar Scotty. Which arm did you have to chew off this morning?

I have the babysitter organised for tomorrow afternoon. Guess what it is costing me, three bottles of homebrew.
That kinda links two of todays threads into one. The only other part of the deal was that the beers were consumed after i get the babay back!
I will post the before and after shots tomorrow. Fear not, she will be filthy:woohoo: the bike that is, not the babysitter:huh:
