AnonymousAs racy tracy and I both had some time off, we decided to load up the hippo and head off
Without a plan, we headed off. We soon got sick of the newengland hwy and headed off through the vineyards, broke, and up to denman. We stayed the night at the royal hotel. The new owners are really nice. I won’t tell you how much he charged us for a room, but it is cheaper than some main meals. He also offered us a lock up for the bike. He is looking to cater more for motorcycles.
Highly recomended
That is not a natural mountain you can see there in the distance
Hippo was freakin out when we stopped to check out musswellbrook common
Moonan flat
Please keep kids supervised
This looks to be a old dodgy landing strip. complete with tree. i suppose we have the westpac choppa now
From denman we decided that would head across the back of the barrington tops NP to Gloucester
The trip gets up over 1500m, but luckily there was no ice. Snow would have been cool though
After spending the night in the pub at Gloucester (we stayed at the one with the lock up garage, but ate at the one with character) we headed to our friends place at Monkerai
Our friend, I call daria, lives with her boy friend sam in the forest. Daria teaches people how to design buidings, and sam teaches people how not to die in the bush.
We ended up going in a big triangle
We kinda ended up following the hunter river from the ocean way up to it’s origen. Then made our way over barrington and back down
Goodbye from racy
And goodbye from champo

July 11, 2009 at 8:33 am #143179Great ride report & pics Champo!
There is something truly wonderful about packing a bag & setting off without a plan for a few days!!! It’s a shame we had to be back for our nephews christening tomorrow morning otherwise we would still be out & about!!
I do love motorbikes!!!
July 11, 2009 at 8:42 am #143185Top report of what looked like a great few days away.

I know a fella who used to ride up at the Common 30+ years ago.
Good to get away like that, just you, Tracey and the Hippo:)
