Need to buy a new trailer. Thinking 8×5 unbraked, single axled, ally box but with a gal chassis. Want to keep the gvm at 750kg so rego’s cheap.

Theres a mob called Tuncurry trailers ( http://www.tuncurrytrailers.com.au/box-trailer/ ) Ill ask for a quote.

Has anyone down Tuncurry/Foster way seen any of their handywork? or anyone with any input into ally boxed trailers?

They Look to be pretty GoodB) They only weigh 160KG for the 6×4. Just let him know of the trailers intended use so that he can fit appropriate Tie down points jerry can stowage’s etc. Good to support the local economy as well;)

dose the price of the rego go on the GVM of the trailer or the tare weight?

but hot gal and alloy box at 160kg/6×4 , no broken back to move it around when unhooked!

an 8×5 would be flat out being 50-80kg more than the weight of the 6×4.

Glad you asked xy. I thought it went on gvm but it does go on the tare weight. So if it comes in under 255kg its only $55 for rego.B) http://www.rta.nsw.gov.au/registration/otherinformation/registrationfees.html?rlid=7

I might be interested in getting one also depending on the price. I’d like to be able to stand it on its tail when not in use due to space issues so the lighter the better. Considering the easy-trailer option but I’m a little concerned about durability being that they’re a kit so bolted connections.

I just found that site and they’re a bit cheaper on there so I think I’ll be getting one of these as it suits my space requirements. I googled it and found some bikers that said they’d been using theirs regularly for years without worry so fingers crossed its tougher than it looks but it should have a pretty easy life with me. Its a bit funny because I have a ute but it’s a 4wd dual cab so it’s death defying to load and I’d like to have the tray lid back on for all my gear to get locked up and keep it out of the cab.

    Hey Austblue
One of the boys who rode with us on the weekend had one of those collapsable trailers. If you PM tf2 I’m sure he’ll give you the guff

Yeah, Nathan `s trailer is a great little setup;)
Looks to be very solid for a foldup style & he was very happy with it when I quizzed him about it;)
