    Following a ride on the weekend i have decided to definately change the front springs in the DRZ, Steve from cycle tune suggests springs rated to 100 kg I am 92 kgs.
    I found that all the bikes weight just went straight down the forks when i tried to turn into a corner and the bike was all over the place on certain parts of the trails, leading to me not being confident to stick a wheel up the inside of someone on a corner when we where playing.
    Has anyone done this modification to their DRZ already.

    Hey Boony, my forks are going to teknik this week for respring and revalve will let you know how i go. Cost $485.00 or $220 if you just do springs.

    Scotty has had his done by Teknik Motorsport @ Penrith and is very happy with them. Was chatting with Boulder this evening and he is sending his to them this week. My bike and X’s bike has been done by them as well they do good work.

    Scott at Battyes also does real good suspension work and has been doing mine of late, he does Crashes as well, good site sponsor and has all the gear

    Hey Boony,
    I had mine done and there is no comparrison to the original springs. I weigh in at a shade under 130kg along with a long range tank and now have confidence in leaning and turning the bike. If the person doing the work know what they are on about they should be able to set it up to your style/liking.:)

    yeh thats the result i am after jak, Steve is a pretty good suspension person so we`ll see how we go. I have heard that after the mod its a totally different ride.(fingers crossed)apparently he will be doing shims and all that other stuff in there as well.

    Completly different ride. As it was explained to me- “riding with the original suspension is like r#@ting a morbadly obese girl on a water bed. Your all over the place” I do a bit of tar riding with mine and now i can keep the bike in a straight line.

    Just went out to the shed and sussed what was fitted to mine. Teknik 19-190 50 (what ever that means)

    92 kg plus your rideing gear plus bum bag plus back pack plus 3lt hydro pack =100kg approx and yes i only use teknic springs as i have found there spot on with there spring rates in the past a revalve is on the cards as well to suit the grater spring rate i have found stock pistons work ok with the right shiming

    just do it Boony. I got my fork the custom treatment and it is perfect. So much so that if I bought another bike I would want to swap it out.

    Hey Steve, thanks for fitting that tyre for me, I think I would have been up sh*t without it, after how slippery it was, I was impressed with the millsville, seems to have warn well too considering we had to ride on that black crap (Boony?).. Hope Glen has fixed you up with the Cash.

    92kgs before or after the spew boony.. What if you take up smoking again, save you some cash on the fork upgrade.
