    No idea of qaulity – but Aldi has bike gear on sale this week inlcuding a GPS unit for $199.00. See http://aldi.com.au/au/html/offers_20090730.htm for the stuff.

    I saw them Craig and having the blue tooth in my helmet I could have the directions coming through the radio. I was a little worried about the mapping software and I checked out sensis mapping site and thought it was OK, so I dont know. Its certainly cheaper then the Garmin designed for the bikes that has all the features you want for sure

    Could do the job

    I bought the chain and Padlock looks to be pretty good.Would still be able to cut it with a grinder if you really wanted it.

    I think if they were doing that and us old bulls where around we would be wake up and help out, thanks for product test.

    Yeah I grabbed a chain as well. My brother has a kryptonite chain and it’s still able to be cut with a diamond tip so this is good enough for the money – maybe the kryptonite is a bit harder to get through but still not difficult enough to stop anyone with tools.

    Not to be a damp rag, but on the chain and lock, see if you can go to a industrial suppliers and buy a length of H/T snig or stainless yachting chain (skipper Aust has it) and a decent padlock, wouldn’t come in much more than the plasticine aldi/bikeshop ones. I have had abike stolen using a “bought setup” and it is a horrible feeling to see your pride and joy gone.
    The “krytonite’ brand is way difficult to cut and can be cut with a industrial diamond attachment true, but not many thieves will bother, cause they want quick in and out.

    The idea is to make it easier to thieve someone elses or not bother in first instance.

    A bloke i know just bought the GPS tho’ and reckons the software is phenominal
    and BTW Mmm don’t those rubber roadbike boots look so so fetching :silly:
