My plated CRF450X noticed a HUGE difference between a non-o-ring and o-ring chain while running the Terraflex 150/90/18 out back. I put the cheaper non-o-ring D.I.D. on, compared to the old Sidewinder Smartchain O-ring, and I now have all my missing power back.Maybe it’s just me though…it doesn’t matter what type of chain I run. 2 or 3 months max. and they’re toast.

not sure could be just the no tyre illusion deal.

Ease up big fella, of course I’m joking! Poor bugger was that stressed out he took a penalty to go through the time control early and get the bike happening again.
Not that I took much notice, but I’m pretty sure it is an illusion caused by the camera angle and the missing rear tyre. My photos don’t make it seem quite such a large chain (being uploaded as we type) which you can check out tomorrow hopefully.
August 13, 2009 at 12:06 pm #148205Nah its all good was trying to be smart / funny  , it looks bigger then normal, I know GHR runs normal size but just thought with the bigger capacity Kato was all

I think it has to do with power loss in the change of direction when going around the front Sprocket TB:)
August 13, 2009 at 12:26 pm #148216Lads on the Crf250X and F I believe it’s the front sprocket to case clearance that is the issue and they run a “T” ring chain to compensate, this is what i was told by a bloke who I trust to know..Robo had one he’d know for certain.
