Hey guys spotted this at the Australia post shop this arvo,Mac has used one for quite sometime and recommends them,My Mule Camelback is just about fuggeded (had it ten years!!)so for $24.95 I will give it a go. On sale now until the 6th of September

i use these,, i had one on the dr jurds ride and the better half turned up yesterday with 2 spare,, the have heaps of room, i havent had an issue with mine.

I bought a cheaper one like this at a camping show for $19.95 but the bladder wasnt user friendly compared to a camelback, so I just use a camelback bladder in it. The original bladder just doesnt compare, rest of it is a good thing

Unfortunately, like Ollie pointed out his Mule camelback has last 10years, thats value for money, the cheaper one wont do that.

The genuine Camelbak valve will cost you about $16 on its own, so at $24 for the whole kit and caboodle is reasonable value for the average weekend warrior.

Worked out over say 6 years, and against a failure on the trail on a hot day, I haven’t seen a failure on the trail of a camelbak where I had a cheaper one leak in contents out on a long rode with chicken, Robbies bladder split on the cape ride one morning leaving him witout his owm water for hrs that day, we rode with LC’s cousin at orange and he couldnt take his mouth piece out of his mouth because it leaks (non camelback)
Just my opinion, gear failure sux it lets you and everyone down.

Fair call TB but I have also seen a Camelbak failure. That is how I know how much a replacement valve costs.

Camelbacks are crap, I have 3 (well one is Tyne’s) and it didn’t even stand up to my 35Kg dog chewing on the hose :laugh:

Mine have all been great and I would recommend them, that said, if I didn’t have one and was looking to get one I would be inclined to get an Oz post one forst for the money. If it died in a year or so learn your lesson and move on or buy another one

these aus post ones seem to be sturdy enough. I make a point of landing on mine at least once a ride and it just keeps on working, The bladder in mine seems fine however the residual beer is hard to remove after a ride,,Na I think for the coin it will do me. I now own 3 of them so alls good.

I went through a few bladders on the camelback as well and have had issues with leaking mouthpieces. That said they are a good thing especially with the 3 litre bladder. The Oz post jobs are only 2.

Oh well I have been lucky then with my camelback bladders then I hope they are a good thing to post ones and will watch this spot with interest, they are a good size.
All that said I reckon the camelbacks could be a bit cheaper :huh:

I have an original Camelback 2 ltr baldder that I have owned for 16 years;) Never let me down yet,,,
I did however recently upgrade to a new model with bigger pack to do the trailride thing OR HALF RIDE according to some:P

I reckon ya get what ya pay for & am all for the Camelback brand;)

Aussie Post models seem ok too, especially for the $$$, BUT, I am suss on the quality of the bladder and wary to take one on longer rides, just in case;)

The thing is they are all made in China including Camelback! Advertising is a powerfull tool I bet they cost a similar amount to produce as the oz post items.

As a side note I have a couple of spare Camelback liners just in case and The bite valve on the Oz post job is a good design.

I still reckon the Post ones are good, and actually looked for them a while back, I might grab one as a spare while they are available;) Never can have too many:laugh:

Bulls

I have “the” contact within Camelback so if we decide on a model and colour I could organise a qty buy at the right price.

Decide on the perfect trail pack and I will get a Bulls price. It would be a promo one off deal.
