Gutz seat cover – OLD Bull Trailriders

Finally got around to ditching the Technosil seat cover, slippery as and replaced it with a Gutz gripper.

Thought i would give it a go and fit it myself. Turned out to be a bit of a pain but probably easier next time.

Being a Husky with the rear seat clip it was a hassle to follow the instructions so i started at the front stretched it & put in a few temporay staples at the rear and started the hard bit pulling out the creases.

plenty of heating with a hair dryer or heat gun.(borrow kids hair dryer if follicly challenged) :laugh:

Used contact adhesive around the clip area and stuck in heaps of staples and good to go.

Or so i thought the rear section of vynal is a bit cheap compared to the top gripper section and the front lower section is like nylon from riding pants. Any way if you twist the rear clip on the rear cheapo vynal it gets all twisted and wants to tear, so it pays to cut a small circle off the offcuts of nylon and put it between the clip and the vynal.

To some it up if they made the small rear section out of the lower nylon it would be perfect. And lucky im not an upholster or i wouldnt make any $ :laugh:

I need a new seat cover, mine is ripped

Was this an eBay special? I don’t know how much KTM want for one, but like everything else I bet it isn’t cheap. I might have to get one from the states….

There from the states, should have mentioned that, around $100, just copied the pic with the US $ value in it.

Last seat cover I did cost $25 and the upholster did it for me, sweet job as well.

I am sure they would have genuine or anything you wish they could source, Mal at Sutto’s does real good work.

The cover I had fitted for the young blokes bike was a gripper that came with a complete sticker kit thing we purchased for him

Yeah, I ve sen complete decal kits with seat covers from the States for $200 shipped. When I get round to it I’ll give Mal a call. I want to see what it looks like first and theor website looks likes it was the first one ever on the internet :laugh:

The Yz has an Execute cover that cost me US$15 + postage ($100+ here), was worried I couldn’t fit it, so off to an unfamilar upholsterer with mine and young fellas new fatcory effex one…$80 later WTF just to fit them. So when the young fella changed bikes and wanted anew seat cover that wasn’t purple two of my riding mates told me what to do with the gripper material, even gave me some they had leftover from their bikes, a decent pneumatic stapler and a heat gun, 1/2 an hour and it looks better than mine cause the material is straight.

Just like when the boys here told me how to apply a sticker kit, working with the right advice is gold. :huh:
