I just found this and translated it from Italian using Google;
BMW Motorrad stronger numerous triumphs achieved by the G 450 X, from second place in the WEC (World Enduro Championship) and Juha Salminen in E2 and several sporting successes in the German Championships in cross country, nell’Erzberg Rodeo and, more recently, Red Bull Romaniacs, presents the version of my 2010 Enduro 450cc.
The BMW G 450 X MY 2010 was updated in a few details: You have developed a new mapping for the control unit ECU, which ensures not only an improvement in consumption, but also reducing the braking torque of the engine also has improved the ‘acceleration and the response is more ready to throttle.
As an option is available (not approved for road use), a new exhaust system that weighs about one kilogram less. The collector stainless steel, designed as a reflecting and absorbing silencer together, meet FIM regulations, it is easy to assemble and reduces the empty weight of the G 450 X in race conditions to no more than 110 kilograms.
The chassis of the BMW G 450 X has also received several modifications: tilt steering plate in the middle of the range was reduced by 2.5 mm, allowing a more neutral handling with optimum directional stability. The new inverted fork was recalibrated to a more progressive and absorption, with the result of having a quicker response and greater ability to overcome hardships, even on rough-terrain very rugged.
The calibration of the rear swingarm has also been altered, so that its characteristics are now more progressive, improving the response. The ergonomics have been improved with a new design of the saddle which is now padded with soft foam and provides a larger surface at the support of your upper thigh. The characteristics of the new design increases comfort and allows the rider more control.
The design of the new G 450 X is oriented models racing official BMW Motorrad Motorsport team’s success, with the inner tubes of the fork in gold anodized. The launch of the new BMW G 450 X has been set for this month (October 2009)I like how it says ‘calibrated forks’ and swingarm.
That makes me feel all excited and I’m already considering an upgrade :ohmy:It also has a new more butt friendly seat

AnonymousI reckon they’ll be a real contender in the market over the next few years, alot will depend on how they market the bike. I think it looks to plain for a lot of people.
Like the KTM look or not it’s a big part of the reason they sell so many bikes, BMW and all the other manufacturere need to take a leaf out of their book in my opinion (from the marketing asthetics side I mean).

I dont know Moto.
The Yamahas look real plain to me but there is a lot of them getting around.
Do you mean ‘marketing strategy’ or the bold new graphics on the bike?October 2, 2009 at 5:16 am #154910
AnonymousI meant both. Marketing stategy for sure. Yamaha can sit back on their rep and sell plain looking bikes, even then they look more interesting than the stock beemer does. I think they should offer them with a sticker kit to jazz them up, if you don’t like it you don’t have to have the kit.
I see lots of people with their own racy looking sticker kits and bling bling stuff, if that’s the mentality of the majority of riders it would be a good thing to do. I wouldn’t want to buy a bike and then have to spend more cash on getting a decal kit for it and fitting it.
The decal kit was a small part of what I was saying. I used that as refernce towards their marketing strategy and product placement
I’m full of sh*t so who cares anyway :laugh: :dry:
