Just a quick Aldi version of the friday Hampton ride Mal5.1 and i did.
Sorry no pics hence the budget report,
Started early at the oberon turn off with the plan to recce the area.Found some dark twin trails and the remnants of a MTB jump, very well made but trashed. Then we realized it was the one that young bloke smashed himself into the tree that was on tv. Mad jump with next to run off.
Rode up to Mt Bindo and down some trails too see where they went and looped ourself back to the cars.
After fueling headed down the road to Jenolan SF hit some S/T that Mal said was from the caves ride and circled the place and eventually found some S/T.By now the clouds came over and storms hit and fuel was low and after a bit of adlibbing in navigating we worked our way back.By now it was dark cold and raining but no dust.I realized my trashed M12 is crap in the wet and i reakon the rocks there took the rest if its useful life anyhow. Not to eventful i managed to stab my arm with tree but thats about it.
Grabbed a refreshemnt at Hampton in to cap off a good day out.

Well what a great day out. Met up with twobanger just after 7am, geared up and off to Mt Bindo area. Cruised around the fire trails looking for any tracks that looked interesting. Ended up at Mt Bindo trig station and twobanger made another fine track selection. Lets have a quick look down there he said. ‘Down there’ was a very steep (close to 45 degree angle) loose rock hill. We went down about 20m and stopped to walk a bit futher. It looked like it got a whole lot steeper, so we decided to turn around. That was tough turning the bikes around on the hill and getting going. We worked our way back to the cars for a feed and fuel.

We headed out to the south west and picked up a couple of single tracks and then some not used fire trails covered in pine needles :woohoo: . Then we just cruised around looking for anything interesting. Ended up on the tracks DrD used for on his hampton ride. Rode some rocky hills and then came across an area with some sweet singles. We looped around here for a while and headed off looking again. We rode into a big flat riding area that looks very popular on weekends. Found a steep hill to play on and headed off on a sweet piece of fire trail. Then the rain started and the lightening. We thought we should start heading towards the cars and we though we were going in the right direction. We poped out on the tar and after a bit of thought I said to twobanger we’re way off target. We had come on the Oberon side of Jenolen Caves just before you go down the hill. So we headed back into the forest and been low on fuel we used the main fire trails back to the cars.

Had a great just exploring and will be going back to see if we can link up a decent loop.

We had a bit of a Steve Erwin day too. Crickey there was native animals out and about. We found (played with and relocted) a Funnel web spider. Stopped at an intersection and watched an echidna wonder across the road 10m away. Came over a rise in the pines and a Wombat was wondering around a small clearing. Seen a few of those black wallabys hanging around the side of the road.

Sorry no photos as I forgot my camera.
