A couple of happy snaps of the bike being built, it was pretty cool being able to see it being built, thanks Sutto for giving me access, Dicky was in charge of prebuild and I got lots of good advice and insider info on the bike, the do’s and dont’s etc… A great bunch of guys there at suttos, couldn;t do enough to help right from the start…

    Cheers
    Chris.

400 a bit less punch, nice and smooth but plenty of power when needed, rode both, the 400 just felt lighter, nimbler etc. Na missed the pivot pegz I thought it was next monday, been so flat out haven’t really been checking in.

    Cheers
    CHris.

if you remember can you ask them what the diff. is between rocker levers and finger followers

    Please.

the 250, 530 have finger follower but the 400/450 use rocker leavers.

the 690 runs roller rockers same as the 625/660. and the site dose not list what the lc8 engines use.

i’m just wondering why they don’t run the rollers on all their bikes.

it makes the maintenance so much less.

He is talking about the valve / rocker gear for the overhead

XY you would be better going down to a dealer or ringing Sutto’s and asking your questions in the flesh as translating them from Sutto’s to Chris and onto you wouldnt work in my opinion

Actually XY has an excellent point, as it is not overly necessary for a dirtbike engine to be whisper quiet, why aren’t Roller/Rockers used on all of them and screw and nut adjustment instead of shims, cause to be honest Shimming sux and topends with bearing certainly beat the hell out of plain metal to metal contact.

My GSXR and the wifes ZXRs had shims (different sizes of course) and it cost me a small fortune everytime I did the valve lash.

Need to get bar risers, but may wait till I can afford a steering dampner (underbar) kill 2 birds with one stone, other than that everything was wonderful, I think the front suspension needs some tuning as it was a bit washy but could also be the tyre. Next ride I am going to play with the Clickers and see what I can do.. I could feel the engine loosening up after the first hour or so.

Best thing was sitting on a tar section doing 90ks 6th gear with the engine hardly revving, compared to the WR which would have been going flat out..

Nice to hear you like her Chris and you can feel the engine loosen up. My needs to do that.

A damper is money well spent, especially if you want your bars higher.

Where are the completed pics before she got dirty?
