October 26, 2009 at 10:57 am #158146The link didn’t seem to arrive at the intended destination but I found what you were talking about nonetheless TB.
I’d say most of us have seen the linkage on and off for some time now. It’s still not certain that the PDS will disappear. They will have to replace it on all the models at once or risk killing sales on either bikes. I like many owners, don’t care for linkages. I would have preferred they spent from 98 to 07 getting the f’n frame and forks working so they steer and handle like they were supposed to. I swear, anything pre 08 should be …. cheaper.
Not looking forward to the hours pulling linkages apart, cleaning, greasing, pressing out the old ones, forking out $200 for a new set and pressing them back in. My current PDS heim has a waterproof cover over it, maintenance free.October 26, 2009 at 11:13 am #158164Link is fixed Axel, just on the linkage business my bike has done 25,000 + kms and the linkages havent been replaced and they dont have grease nipples, I have only repacked them twice in that time

October 26, 2009 at 11:20 am #158167Fair enough. Wouldn’t expect any less from a Honda, such a shame they abandoned 2 strokes. As long as you keep the water out of them. I’ll tell you Kawasaki linkages had a great habit of destroying themselves from memory. Most of it’s bearings did now that I think about it.

October 27, 2009 at 10:34 am #158180Maybe they just need to use a decent shock?
I reckon the PDS on the Beemer is fantastic.October 27, 2009 at 10:50 am #158171October 27, 2009 at 10:57 am #158172axel wrote:

AnonymousIt would be cool if they added a 350 to the range. A full power 350 would be the go, especially if it was injected.
October 27, 2009 at 11:43 pm #158346I love the irony here, a thread about linkage being the superior and the link was broke :p
A purpose built 350 or even 300 would be great for me thanks
October 28, 2009 at 12:28 am #158147Live On PDS i say. If it aint broke dont fix it. This is one of the things i love about my KTM. No high maintenance linkages! Is there really any advantage to having the linkage?
