I am in the market for a 4wd at the moment has been narrowed down to either a Toyota Prado or a ford Territory, has anyone any experience with these 2 vehicles.. Must be 7 seater, one thing with the territory as it is an AWD would it be as good as the prado in 4wd.. And can you switch between AWD and 2wd on the territory.
Cheers
Chris.November 12, 2009 at 9:58 am #160666I don’t have much experiance with the new model Territory Chris but I have worked on the earlier model and the build quality was shit.
If it was me I would go for the Toyota every day of the week.
November 12, 2009 at 10:00 am #160680have heard that about the territorys, apparently the new ones are much better, the internet never lies
November 12, 2009 at 10:01 am #160667I have a mate with a diesel Prado and it would flog my 4.2TD nissan.
I think it would be a far better option over the ford
MurphNovember 12, 2009 at 10:02 am #160668Gday Chris
Prado is not as thirsty as the territory.I used to have a turbo diesel and my wife drives a territory.Typical ford plastics break easy on all the gadget things inside. Allthough over long distance drives i reckon the ford is heaps better like when your on the freeway etc alot smoother on the road.Prado is alot tougher in the bush.If your gonna be a towny go the ford…if you are going to belt it in the bush…go the prado.Bol :woohoo:
November 12, 2009 at 10:02 am #160689so do you think diesel or petrol?

November 12, 2009 at 10:08 am #160697Check used value of Territory v purchase against same for Prado.
Diesel and have fun blowing off the doof doof excels at the lights. Get an auto one too, suits the TD better and the economy is same.
November 12, 2009 at 10:09 am #160704Diesel it is then, gotta take advantage of the GOVT’s 50% tax break, figure will never get as good a deal of the GOVT again, 2 cars to trade so should hopefully get a good price.
Chris.

My next car will be a Prado, when I get sick of the 100 series (won`t be happening for a while)
I have driven Territories a lot, also a couple of Prado`s (both petrol & Deisel)
