Cheers old bulls. took the vstrom for a spin and wound up with more than I wanted[see photo]
Went[at speed] up to craven [on bucketts way before gloucester]and turned up[l/h] -upper avon road, then turned right at some fork and went the wrong way. nice riding though, plenty of river fords and pretty country green and nice. Turned left at the next t intersection and headed towards gloucester tops turned left at the gloucester tops turn and continued up to the tops, nice but we couldnt find any through roads[we tried]. Back the way we came and corrected our error ending up on berrico road like I planned.Fuel was looking ordinary at 220km traveled, so we decided to retire to stroud for beer and at speed home again. we left at 1pm and home at 7.30pm. good riding and now we know the right turn to make perhaps the ride will be even better next time.
I was trying to get up berrico road then onto the terrible billy and trickle down into dungog for beer-….thats for next time now!!
Damn bee took a instant dislike to me on the Gloucester tops road -like on the cartoons-it came at me stinger first. Straight past the sunnies and bam I thought it got me on the eyeball at first. Turns out you can stop real fast with one eye shut when you have to. I got nailed by one of the little furry fu”kers 2 rides ago …. on the eyelid as well… I must have giant eyelids or I sure do now!!!

I think you’re pretty lucky though, that’s a dangerous situation to be put in and it sounds like you handled it well. I had a bee fly into my helmet riding a scooter around thailand and the bugger got me on the hand when I tried to brush it out
