G’day dirt bikers. A good friend and I are heading back to the mountains for some “end-of-year” riding before it gets “REAL HOT”.
He is driving up from Melbourne so I am obliged to give him good value for money :laugh:Our schedule will be:
Fri: Drive up to Lithgow, lock up the bikes and stay at a pub.
Sat: Make our way up the drift and either collect some riders from Zig Zag (if any) or head straight out to Ben Bullen. Dinner at the Workers and pub stay again.
Sun: Same again depending on the company. If we have company we will stay again within Newnes.I’m not good with Grades but all I can say is it’s gonna be warm up there in the hills. 28-30C and if it doesn’t rain – dusty. Super challenging sections will be best avoided so we don’t get stuck anywhere in the heat. As much single track as possible, least amount of firetrail possible. If my mate doesn’t puke before the end of the day I have failed him. (Nah only joking, won’t be too hard and will accommodate all levels)
Looking at max 4 others. Ride distance will be whatever we can do on a tank of fuel.I am not the best at navigation despite being there numerous times so if there is someone that can take the lead at times that would be great.
Otherwise there will be a lot of “I can’t remember… lets go that way”November 17, 2009 at 9:01 am #161226Shameless bump. Maybe I should offer free beer with the ride?

Ah, not surprised Rocket, not surprised. You guys have to get out more. This will probably be the last ride for me for the year as weekend trips like this aren’t that easy to get. No way will I ride local in this heat. 44C on Friday here.
I dunno where you got the “hours” thing from? You must be mistaken with Patto on that one. Unless I was talking about wearing the POS out which was likely. $500 rebuild every 6 months was the issue. I may have not wanted to put hours on it because I was sick of rebuilding the shit heap. It wasn’t the case for selling it with less hours, couldn’t care less. The difference you see here is this:
– 250 4 stroke = more worried about making it to the end of the ride
– 300 2 stroke = more worried about not riding enough and maximising fun factor.November 17, 2009 at 12:09 pm #161444Bob wrote:

BobG’day Bob, we’ll get you back to your car on a tank if you come. What I was getting at was if it’s just my mate and I we will explore out Ben Bullen way. If we have to pick people up from Zig Zag then we won’t because it’s a bit of a hike. Either way we will return everyone where they started, no problem.
