Cleaning out the Poo – A bit Political ….But

I bought a bird feeder. I hung it on my back porch and filled it with seed. What a beauty of a bird feeder it was, as I filled it lovingly with seed. Within a week we had hundreds of birds taking advantage of the continuous flow of free and easily accessible food.

But then the birds started building nests in the boards of the patio, above the table,
and next to the barbecue.

Then came the poop. It was everywhere: on the patio tile,the chairs, the table ..
everywhere!

Then some of the birds turned mean. They would dive bomb me and try to peck me even though I had fed them out of my own pocket.

And others birds were boisterous and loud. They sat on the feeder and squawked and screamed at all hours of the day and night and demanded that I fill it when it got low on food.

After a while, I couldn’t even sit on my own back porch anymore. So I took down the
bird feeder and in three days the birds were gone. I cleaned up their mess and took down the many nests they had built all over the patio.

Soon, the back yard was like it used to be …. quiet, serene….and no one demanding their rights to a free meal.

Now let’s see.Our government gives outfree food, subsidized housing,free medical care and free education, and allows anyone born here to be an automatic citizen.

Then the illegals came by the tens of thousands. Suddenly our taxes went up to pay for
free services; small apartments are housing 5 families; you have to wait 6 hours to be seen by an emergency room doctor; your child’s second grade class is behind other schools because over half the class doesn’t speak English.

Corn Flakes now come in a bilingual box; I have to ‘press one ‘ to hear my bank talk to me in English, and people waving flags other than our flag are squawking and screaming in the streets, demanding more rights and free liberties.

Just my opinion, but maybe it’s time for the government to take down the bird feeder.

If you agree, pass it on; if not, continue cleaning up the poop.

Just another american rant, the whole world is built on immigration, how far do you want to go back……

I like Spaghetti, satay, stir fry, roast lamb, roast beef, steak, pizza, pita bread, chocolate, sweet potato, pork, be a real bugger to eat only emu and kangaroo wouldn’t it?

Yep lets all be pure of race and speak only one tongue….what would that be…mandarin maybe?

I agree with your statement Bruce,but when is enough enough? What peeves me off the most is a Refugee gets twice as much financial support as our Pensioners who have paid taxes for 60 years and fought wars and built this country to the desirable status that it holds. Im not real good with words,but lets just say it pisses me off :angry:

I’m with Ollie, I have no issues with people being given asylum but when they get better benefits than Australian Citizens it becomes a big joke.

The UK is the worst for it, that’s half the reason I left the sh*thole, I don’t want to see Australia go the same way.

Opened up a can of worms here.

I’m not saying what you state is wrong but some of these refugees are genuine (although not all). To stop them outright is signing their death cetificates in some situations. I sure as hell wouldnt want to be the pollie who makes that decision.

But on the other side of the coin, some refugees bring with them a life time of trouble. All most know is self preservation at any cost and the violence that goes with this. This is not painting them all with the same brush though.

Also not give some sort of financial assistance would mean our insurance would go up and we would live in panic rooms because they would then undoubtedly have to turn to crime to live. (though it does seem pretty generous the offering they recieve if the info i have is correct) IMO

But its easy to say dont let them in, do it this way or do it that way. What would your soloution be ???

Once worked with a Romanian bloke, he was dobbed in by his bitter alcoholic neighbour for having a better TV than them, so the authorities took it away called him a troublemaker.
Knowing he would now be branded for life he packed up his wife and two young children and headed off the the west.

Their trip was incredible, sub-freezing conditions in the open, dodgy pricks trying to rob them, hurdles at every turn eventually getting to Australia by hook or crook.

They deserve to be here.

Yes there is a sensible way remember the vietnamese boat people from late 70s-early 80s, outstanding sucess story all in all, but all parties have to agree as they did then, we have done it before, but todays politics are more venile, herein lays the problem.

How easy we forget we have done this before….

Spot on Mr Blue. Is the info we have correct re: pay figures etc. Thats why i made the comment in my post about the info i have being right as its only come from e.mails etc.

I had typed out a long winded reply for this thread on my thoughts. But after reading it again before I posted I realised that what I had to say was going to hypocritical and thought it best to just leave it alone.

In conclusion though there is good and bad in every race, breed, whatever. I will try to only judge a person on the dealings that I have with them. But if they shit on my family or mates, thats it – game over.

I know that the above could be seen as being a fence sitter, but it is just too political for me.

Sheez I was all in it up to about half way! I had a quiet weekend away with the trouble and strife and she fed a couple of maggies and their youngin on the saturday then sure enough the young bugger was squawking out on the balcony at sparrow’s fart on sunday! I love waking up to their song but they youngin’ don’t know the bloody words or something because it was just “shreek shreek get out here with my food shreek!” from the little bugger!

As for the other stuff, well yeah I have no problem when there’s a fair and equitable system to allow people who have no alternative to live out but it does seem that our open armed hand out system is the main reason we’re being inundated by people smugglers. Slave labour is far from the answer but I believe that anyone that takes a handout (in the form of cash especially) should be made to earn it in a humane way.

The poor bastards are fleeing the nation of birth…must be for a bloody good reason.
I live in the country(Tamworth Redneck) and we have had a few Sudanese arrive here of the last year or so.I got no problem with them,they actually give the local natives a towel up and in my books that will do me :woohoo:
Australia is a country of immigrants that is what has made us who we are.Who said we are bloody full?
Most of em just want to work and bring there family up in a country where they wont get their heads cut off by some lunatic or some other scary shit that we could not even imagine.
I know there is the fear element that they are all going to do jihad on our arse….but bloody hell,go for a walk in the rough end of town here at night and its not imigrants that will tear you up or throw rocks at police,firies and ambos.

As far as hand outs go,thats a problem the powers to be need to work out,too many bludgers out there today,black white pink or green.

And as for birds shitting all over your veranda,get a cat.
Then again i hate cats.
