The day started with Tim having a dental appointment at 8:00 but he was back by 8:45 so all was good :)
Jeffro arrived just as Tim was getting home. When Tim was about to pull on his riding pants a filthy big Huntsman spider ran out them. Glad the spider decided to bail then
Young Smurph had trouble starting his bike with his bad leg so I kicked it a couple of times and it fired into life :woohoo:
Headed out along the old Wangi power station rail line before ducking through the tunnel under the main line and did a couple of singles :woohoo:
Out past the West Lakes motocross track the is a place we call the valley of clay. lucky for us it had dried out pretty quick but that didn’t stop Tim from coming to grief. Climbing out of the valley he managed to flip the little Kato coming down hard on the rocks but there was no damage sustained to Tim or bike  He blames it on me of coarse(I have repacked his muffeler and now he reckons he can’t hear whats going on with the motor) :side: Jeffro also ran out of fuel halway up the hill having to swap back to his main tank
Kept the riding easy today so we didn’t do some of the nice singles we usually do ;)
On saying that I came off on the hill behind the Gap servo, those who did Dans “Westy to nowhere and back” ride will know the one. No excuses other than saying it wasn’t wet enough  Hamburger and fuel at the servo then down the southern side. This track is starting to get a bit overgrown with lantarna and we did come accross a recent tree fall blocking our way. There was a little gnarly scrubby track to get round but it was hard work trying not to get entangled in the vines :woohoo:
Just after that I took the wrong line and ended up bogged in a deep soft bottomed puddle :(
Thanks Jeffro for helping me get the big girl out :cheer:
We then did the “Murphys single” :woohoo: And headed out towards Bangalow
Not far along the track I could hear a grinding noise coming from my bike and after several stop and starts found it to be the bottom chain guide completely worn through. Rather than carrying on I decided to pull the pin and head home. (Chain was rubbing on the frame, no joy there)
Jeffro headed off at the freeway and Tim and I rode home
    Thanks for coming along Jeffro
Hopefully Tims leg will improve and we can get back into the harder stuff next time
Some pics were taken, will have to ask Mal 5.1 nicely to post them up
I think Jeffro took a bit of footage
    Cheers

Geez, lucky his leg was ok in the off! Nice to hear he’s back, hopefully there will be some more Murphsberg’s coming up with Tim in tow :)

I think he needs a couple more rides yet Moto as he was a little off the pace.
Could also be a cofidence thing
I’m sure he will get back into the zone soon :woohoo:
    Cheers

It was a nice little ride today with a mix of fire trail and singles. The singles around awaba are brilliant, nice and loamy winding in and out of the trees and up and down the hills and gullies. Murph and I both had a little trouble on the same hill but Tim just coasted up like it was nothing. The Murphs single was nice too and I thought I got some video footage of it but apparently not. When we came out of the single I checked the helmet cam and it said there were 2 videos which would have been right as I turned it off at one point while Murph got ready to take a couple of happy snaps, then turned it back on once we got going again. After that I set it to take multiple photo’s (I thought) but when I got home there was nothing on the memory card so I don’t know what’s going on there.
Murph was very appolagetic about having to cut the day short but I think Tim was glad of it and now that I have sat and cooled off a bit, it was the best for me as well as I have a few aches and pains.
Only got one photo which is of Tim emerging from the jungle where we had to divert around a tree across the track, will post it once I have uploaded to photobucket.

Thanks for a good ride Murph and Tim B)

After a head on or a busted leg Murph it would knock you confidence about a lot I reckon but the two together he is doing well ;)
