I am looking at getting some electroplating done, does anyone have any decent contacts in the Newcastle area?

Thought I’d ask, I’ve already got a couple of quotes but if someone comes recommended…..

Can you ask them if they can do black chrome please Moto?
It’s very hard to find anyone who can do it.

Yeah, I’d like black chrome too which the local guys can’t do.

Swift Electroplaters in Silverwater (West Sydney) do black chrome though mate. Ask for Michael, they aren’t doing anything until the new year now though.

Maybe we can pool our parts together?

    Hope this helps :)

    What about HAMILTON CHROME ???
You probably already tried them, but they were popular with the yachties on the superyachts a couple of years back ,,,

There was a place at Cardiff too, but I can`t remember the name, they were good too.

    Good LUCK

OK there is a guy here the specialises in certain electroplating and black chrome was all. He also specialises in chrome on aluminum and automotive stuff. We deal with him at Cummins for our display engine and show stuff and he is great the best we found. Good luck with your stuff ;)

They only do anodising Hatto, if my parts were alloy I’d probably get that done. Thanks for the help though :)

Black chrome does look nice. I imagine it’d be heavy for the sake of bling tho if it’s for your bike, have you considered painting instead? Or is it ‘stuff’ for your rice cooker?

You mean rice burner ;) No it isn’t for the rice burner (which is incidentally made in Melbourne) :P

It might be for the bike but I don’t think the weight will be an issue. Most expansion chambers you buy for a 2 stroke are chrome plated  It’s a coating a few microns thick, I’m not dipping my whole bike in :P

I’m going to be running thinner grips on my bike soon so that should offset the weight difference

So, The “STUFF” is the 300`s chamber ;) SHould look pretty “BLING”

You could also remove your grips all together, as when you replace the missing number plate, thinner grips might not be enough of a weight saving  :P

Good luck with the plating though ;)
