I am having trouble getting my head around some tyre sizes.

is a 4.50-18 the same as a 120/100-18 ?? If so how does that translate?

120 mm is the one tyre and 4.5 inches is the other and yes they are roughly the same

Thanks Dave, I hadn’t even considered that the 4.50 would be an imperial measurement.

Thanks TB,like I said to dave,I am suprised that the imperial measurement is still used. Then again the rim diameters are still measures in inches. Stands to reason when you look at it that way.

The manufacturer of the imperial type is stuck in yesteryear and the metric numbers sound cooler on the metric, a 120 or 130 sounds way bigger than a 4.5, the reason I say 120 or 130 is different brands call them different sizes but they are the same size in reality, I think its easier to just say they are black and round

Kenda are American and the yanks work in ye olde worlde. Although all the Kenda tyres I’ve seen have metric measurements. Maybe an old tyre?
