Badbowie & I set off for a ride we’ve done a few times before.
It had been raining for a few days so it was going to be an interesting day with some big wet clay climbs.
We left my house straight across the road straight into the bush hitting sand whoops at 80k’s (badbowie says they are smilar to Finke) tthen out onto the road for a short run to Yarrahappini. We skirted around the mountain as we’d be going over the top on the return trip. The trails here were wet & slippery with some steep climbs & huge erosion mounds.

The creeks were flowing after the rain.

Then into some single track, still wet steep & slippery & out onto the Pacific Highway at Warrell Creek to Reach Ingalba State Forest.

Back into some more new single trail just off the Highway, someone has been busy cutting it & building a couple of bridges.

Then a heap of fire trail over Scotsman Mountain & down into some more sweet singles before hitting the bitumen for a short run to Taylors Arm
Lunch Here.

Back the way we came, & instead of our usual return over Bulls Knob we followed some trails & found this snotty hill climb up to Good Friday Mountain.

Starts out as hard pack with some big erosion mounds brushing speed off then it turn to extremely loose shale, we decided after a few attempts we were too far from home to trowel a bike and gave up. We followed the trail a bit more & came to Allgomerra Road followed it back to the Highway then went back into the forest to get back to where we crossed the highway.
We headed back over the highway & onto Yarrahappini
Mountain, up Pirate Road This is an awesome climb 500metres vertical in acouple of km’s with heaps of well formed erosion mounds & the track not much more than single trail. The last bit of the climb to the top

The Top

The view towards South West rocks

Then it was a short run back to Stuarts Point on some fast flowing slippery Fire Trails & back into the sand whoops before riding into the driveway
