I’ve put in a few posts and I looked at my profile and there was more visits than posts so I thought I had better give people the low down. I am in Narrabri. You’d think out here I should be good at flat track but I can’t do a powerslide to save myself (well not intentionally anyway). I grew up with bikes on the farm but left them for financial reasons (meaning I left home and couldn’t afford my own) and only got back into them after giving up footy and selling the ski boat back in 2005 at the ripe old age of 34. Since then I have been an avid competitor in the local pony express series. Even managed to score a couple of trophies along the way which always keeps the interest up. I used to ride with Blue who owns the local bike park out here, Bike Territory. Hence my support of the bike park and the signage all over my gear.
You see I am easily bought. Two stickers and I’m a supporter for life. Anyway things progress and now I am president of the Narrabri Dirt Bike Club and one of the organisers of the Pony Express series (7 rounds). I will put another post up about this series soon.
I have ridden locally (obviously), nundle, Catombal Bike Park, gingers creek, sea view and a couple rides in the taree to Coffs Harbour area.
What I would love to achieve this year in riding is the Yellow Mountain Cross Country and a trail ride in the victorian high country. Three days minimum. So if anyone is organising something and needs numbers I will certainly be interested. Need a bit of notice though with the young’uns at home.
Another blatant plug. You will have seen the post on the bike territory ride on here. This was not organised by me but I will probably end up being one of the guides. It’s a great place to ride. I know some the Tamworth blokes on here would have already had a small taste of what’s there therough the pony express. There is something for everybody. Heaps (7500 acres) of the usual single track, hills (the highest peak is 1200m), fire trails as well as an awesome EnduroX track just near the quarters. They are trying to turn this ride into an annual gathering and all are welcome. Have a look at http://www.biketerritory.com.au
I will probably know some of the Tamworth blokes on here hopefully but I haven’t worked out who’s who yet.
Sorry for the essay. I will try and keep things shorter from now on and if you’re ever out this way look me up and I’ll tee up a ride.

Probably still wouldn’t of been a flat brimmer but would have loved to be in enduro when fitness wasn’t an issue. Can’t really complain though. Farm life was great. Just a pity my kids won’t get the same.
