From todays Port Macquarie news
THE body of a motorcyclist was found in a national park on Saturday night.
A family member contacted police after the 62-year-old man had not phoned in as arranged.Police were told the Wallsend man had been camping at the Barrington Tops National Park for the past week, riding his trail bike throughout the day.
The man is believed to have fallen from the motorcycle while riding in dense rainforest.
Barrington Tops National Park is 38km west of Gloucester and 138km south-west of Port Macquarie.

Quote:RIPMick, change the title mate. It’s really not nice to jump in and say that about the bloke when the facts aren’t here to support what you’re insinuating. Effectively you’re saying this bloke died because he did something he shouldn’t have and that’s a matter of opinion.
Start another thread if you want to soapbox and I’ll happily discuss it with you.
Maybe you are right Austblue  I had a dilemma as what to call it. Sorry for any distress caused. I only called it that as it had been a recent discussion on here.
Although it does appear that he was riding alone.

January 18, 2010 at 12:58 am #168401That is terrible news to hear, I feel so sorry for all involved and lets hope that he did not suffer too much, RIP
January 18, 2010 at 2:07 am #168456I reckon there is a better then average chance on that hot day (saturday) he may have even had a heart attack and crashed as a result. Happened to a friend of mine, either way not good for all involved.

we should be very aware of our surround as it may not always be our fault.ie oncoming bullbar at 60ks will make a mess.

January 18, 2010 at 8:40 am #168402Sad ,sad news this

Don`t know the full extent of the story, but it will stir up some hot debate I think,,,
Couls lead to more problems with access to trails up there, National Parks are funny that way, any excuse will often doJanuary 18, 2010 at 12:05 pm #168507Boony wrote:

BoonyJanuary 20, 2010 at 10:03 am #168708I just read this on DBW
Quote:Just spoke to someone who was on the ground up there. It looks like the poor bugger did have a heart attack and was more than likely gone before he hit the gound. He was from Newcastle riding a DT175. RIP.If you ask me, I’d rather die of a heart attack riding alone than sitting at home watching tv thinking about it.
