Some days at work are very rewarding and today was one of them.

We partnered with the Smith family and co-ordinated a team buliding exercise with a major international firm. The deal was they split into groups of 5 and had to build a bicycle from the box to a point where it was ridable. Sounds simple enough to us but when you only give one set of tools to every second team it becomes a real co-ordinated effort.

Obviously being an executive and earning 200K plus a year does not qauantee any common sense but they all got there in the end. Each Mongoose BMX they built had a number on it and when the teams were all finished the doors opened and 55 disadvataged kids ran in with a number in their hand and ran to thier new bike and matching helmet.

Neither the execs or the kids knew about this twist and the looks on thier faces was pure joy.

    Good day!

what a great story and as you said a good gesture!! How stoked would the kids be?? Maybe if you had executives building them, you should have scrutineered the bikes before the kids threw their legs over them.LOL Geez the carpark would have been a mad house with 55 excited kids cutting sick on their new pushies.
